I have quite a few diabetic clients right now and have jsut started testing many of the products out there.

When it comes to people with diabetes you want to as careful as possible when recommending something. Even when it comes to simple things like recommending what to eat. It could mean life or death.

As soon as I finish testing and find some decent products that are safe and will help, I will send you a PM.

A major drug company is an advertiser on a diabetes related site of mine (I am Type 2). This was arranged through a direct relationship with the company and their marketing department.

I do web work for a doctor with a Type II protocol which does include supplements, but NO drugs. So far has been very successful, but of course, he IS a doctor. And in San Diego and only takes those on meds and desperate (like ready to lose limbs desperation) because he has found those are the only ones motivated enough to follow the protocol. (it is a protocol which guides the body into insulin balance naturally without the side effects drugs can sometimes cause. Also many drugs just hide symptoms which can make someone getting worse not realize it until too late.)

His protocol, not mine or one developed by non-medical people or even people looking for a buck or two.) He has a hypothyroidism protocol as well. The two seem to be closely medically related. He doesn't make a lot of money with these, he does it mainly because in his specialty he ran into many Type II diabetes and hypothyroidism patients whose meds where preventing his specialty protocol from working well, so he just researched the problem to develop these 'natural' protocols. (With help from other diabetes and hypothyroidism specialists.)

What do I know? I am not a Doc, he is. I just work for him.

As for affiliate programs, I am in agreement, diabetes (especially Type II) can be life or death and not a good game to get into unless you either have no conscience or don't sleep anyway.
    Personal opinion only,
    Mark

PS- The supplements are not 'aimed' at diabetics. They are supplements on the market that worked well with-in the confines of his protocol.

Are there any affiliate products for diabetes instruments? (IE: Glucose meters, etc...?)

I'm insulin dependant. I always get free meters at my doctors. And supplies are covered partially by my insurance. You'll really want to check out the market to be sure people are buying these types of things online.

One potential market might be organizers for travel that use ice packs. Or even special carryons for flying. It's always a pain to get my supplies through security at the airport. The ice pack sets off the sensors and then I have to show my note from the doctor. Some sort of consolidated pack would be nice.

Recipe books and medical braclets might be another option.

If you search on here for Martin Avis (surprised he has not already responded) he talks very highly of a diet book he has read and applied with great success and I think his wife is preparing a ebook with recipes to go with the diet, which will no doubt be available as a affiliate product.

    Hope that helps.

I'm diabetic, and there is no cure, only control. Following any sensible diet will cause you to lose weight which will get the diabetes under control. However, if you've gone untreated or not taken it seriously, the related health issues that can stem from being diabetic may already be an issue and require medical intervention to maintain or prolong health.

I agree with what others have said, I wouldn't promote anything that is offered on Clickbank unless it's a dietary guide and even then i would use caution. Low carb is the way to go with diabetes, but for type II diabetics something such as the Atkins diet can be outright dangerous....

    Hey,

My name is Robert. I took my son Matt into his Diabetic Educator Sherri Gravier a week ago and she said she had never ever seen anyone go from an A1C of 10.9 and almost needing insulin to just above 7 in 3 short months. I put him on a special weight management program, and that's exactly what I did. I'm new to this forum so I'm not sure is urls are allowed without request. I have a special offer I would like to make you if you respond before my 55th "anni-birth-sary". However, the url is on my profile.

There are a few CPA offers related to the diabetes niche, Commission Junction has them for example. I would check those out if I were you.

I have always found that people with disease will go to great lengths to understand it (Understandable of course)... Why not offer a product which links them to all current journals being published which relate to your market. Annotate them and dumb it down form them and link them to the source. As people have metioned above, when offering medical adive it is very dangerous due to it is their life. A lot of information online is dumbed down a lot for the average person, unfortunately, in that translation ALOT of actual information is left out. Things are simplified to much and the meanings of things get changed to something completely different. Just remember my last sentance when actually writing articles... Only get information from journals or goverment websites / education websites because these are BY FAR the most reliable sources of information.

In the context of Internet marketing - I find it sick that anybody would want to profit off the backs of diabetics, albeit type 2 or type 1! My sentiments extend to any serious or life-threatening medical conditions!

My daughter has type 1, she was diagnosed at age 11, she is now 23.

We are lucky! In the UK, all her insulin, blood monitors, testing strips, ketone strips, 3 monthly blood tests & clinic consultations with her diabetic team are free. Her clinicians have warned her over he years to avoid any advice or purchase off the internet - unless the advice is from people who belong to established support groups or authority sites, such as Diabetes UK. I'm sure the the US has similar sources of information. They are very strict about affiliate selling or IM as regards to diabetic products - their advice is simply, don't!

And please don't do it under the guise of 'helping' - you can still help without lining your own pockets! And as for the suggestion above, about CPA marketing and diabetes - words fail me!

Consider marketing to doctors, medical practioners, and clinics. They can be far more profitable with much less liability repurcussions than selling directly to at-risk consumers. I have found that Amazon has an adequate array of medical diagnostic equipment and clinic/laboratory supplies.

Thanks for this I had no Idea. I would not mind doing something like this because my brother and my father who recently passed away was a diabetic from the time he was 3 years old. Like stated above though seems like it could get complicated selling this type of stuff.

OP, I understand your question was a long time ago...

I personally struggled with diabetes and i know its not easy, theres a lot of crap out there, i never thought to make another product because i assumed all the doctors that did sell products were helping diabetics.

I bought the top products on clickbank only to realize they were hyping up misleading information and many times just and "old wives tale" remedy, cure or vegan diet relabeled as a "cure" for Diabetes.

There is a huge misunderstanding about everything you've heard about managing Diabetes, and thats the problem.

I came across a very reputable doctor that shared with me his over 3 decades of research and i understood our body's metabolism and needs in a way i never had before.

since then i was able to see through the marketing and hype that companies use to sell their products and make the right choices for me and my family.

The key is getting your body's whole metabolism to work correctly and healthy instead of trying to make one indicator go away (lowering blood sugar)

Everyone is so focused on finding out whats wrong with people that "have diabetes" instead of focusing on what healthy people are doing right that people with diabetes dont do.

        Diabetes is a RESULT...

There are a few people that have talked about it but seems to go unnoticed, which is weird because its now 1 in 2 people in the US are pre-diabetic or already have diabetes.

There is a way to completely get rid of Diabetes forever, but keep listening to the Pharmaceutical companies and Food Industry that stand to profit from you and you might as well take advice from your opponent
