Anyone losing sleep over this stuff? :)

Bonjour mes ami(e)s;

Is anyone losing sleep over IM? I know I definitely am. My brain works in an interesting way. I'll pose it a question and forget about it.

Then in the middle of the night I'll get this brilliant answer, have to jump up and jot it down on the whiteboard. Its getting to be a bit frustrating to be honest. I just want 1 nights sleep without thinking about my next launch! Hahaha

Cheers

Why's the (e) there? You're addressing everyone here, so shouldn't it just be "mes amis"? Also, I think we only "pose" questions in French, not English.

Haha...sorry for giving you a hard time. And yes, I do have trouble sleeping when I get an IM idea...my mind races and it can take a looong time for it to slow down!

lol, I have the same type of problem. I get most of my ideas and strategies in the middle of the night. They just wake me up and I jot them down in a notepad next to my bed.

Writing it down helps me "let it go" until the morning. If I don't write it down, I'll wrestle with it all night and then lose it when I do finally get to sleep.

I have a similar story, only I normally don't wake up at night with ideas.

I just can't get to sleep early, because my mind is often in overdrive with great ideas the closer to sleeping time it gets. So I try to empty my mind by writing stuff down before I go to bed.

But when you write stuff down, you tend to get more ideas, and then you've got it going

      What's sleep?

Workload keeps me from checking out this sleep thing, but i'll get around to it one day.

thinking too much that you can't sleep might be a good thing... it just shows your determination. If you keep that up you're destined to succeed and hopefully sleep peacefully...

It seems that my sleep is in small blocks of time because of this phenomenon. Even when I go to bed believing I have my thoughts and plans under control I have difficulties putting my business on hold until the morning. I find myself making notes and such throughout the night.

I stopped losing sleep over IM a very long time ago. Yeah, I remember
what it was like to get so excited about creating a new product or
whatever. Today, it's something I do a few hours a month just to keep
me from being bored to death from playing video games and writing songs
      most of the day.

In a way, I miss the days when it was a challenge to make money. I
      remember celebrating all the milestones.

Yes, there is a downside to success after a while. You get so used to it
that you don't appreciate it the way you once did. Don't get me wrong,
I'm grateful that I can support my family with my IM business, but the
personal satisfaction I used to get simply from the act of making money
      just isn't there anymore.

My satisfaction, today, comes more from the emails I receive from people
telling me that I've really helped them. It makes me feel like maybe what
I'm doing actually matters. Otherwise, at this point in time, I think I'd give
      it up altogether.

No, losing sleep over IM is something that is long dead and gone from my
      life.

And in a weird way...I miss it.

    Sleep is sooooo important

I lose sleep sometimes, but only when i had too much tea/coffee and my mind comes up with all those ideas. But its great because i am getting excited and usually cant wait to get up and start working on the new ide.

(And no, i have *never* been "excited" when i was still working a normal job )

I sort of have a similar problem.

Since I started IM I have noticed that I work best at nights. Because of this i often find myself getting most of my work done a little too close to bed time. The problem is that my mind wont allow me to relax until i finish up something so if I start too late, I am unable to fall asleep for quite a while :[

Nope. I lose a few minutes of pump time. I'll be in the middle of a good set at the gym, and all that exercise pumping oxygen through my brain brings on the ideas. I just pop over to the counter with the Suggestions notepad, grab a leaf, and jot down my idea (I owe them at least a few notepads by now) and get right back to my set.

When I get home, I either implement it or file it for a later project.

Just a side note - I hope to always find ways to challenge myself in my business ventures in order to keep my excitement alive. I love it that I enjoy what I am doing so much that I don't mind waking up to new ideas and plans - in fact, it only adds to the fun.
