Any Facebook Advertising Success Stories?

Has anybody made any serious money using Facebook Advertising? I've read across the board that the traffic does not convert well, so I am wondering is there anybody out there making it work for them, and if so how are you doing it?

There are a couple tricks to making FB work. Forget about creating a campaign with an 1 ad and sitting back. You need to create hundreds of ad variations. Images are the most important thing to test. They don't always have to be totally relevant to the offer...you just want to grab someone's eye. Make sure they know where they're going to go when they click with your ad text though.

    Here are some other tips:

    • Try to narrow your target demographic to less than 80k. Anything higher than that is running the risk of being a little too broad.
    • Use keyword to target peoples interests.
    • You almost have to bid CPM now. Start low and slowly increase your bid until you start getting traffic.
    • CTR is king so like I said before, test LOTS of different images.
    Hope that helps!

i have had some success on FB.

i agree, pics are THE most important factor in CTR.

CTR is king, and yes, i think you have to go CPM now.

As long as CTR is above 0.30%, you're clicks will be below 10c.

If you can get CTR to .50%, CPC becomes about 6cents.

I start on the high end of the FB estimation for CPM bids. If the CTR sucks, I scrap the ad creative.

      Cheers.

        1) When you log in to Facebook, you don't see ads on the right hand side.
These visits are calculated as impressions, So never use cost per impression.
Pay for cost per click advertising otherwise you will get extremely low clicks.

        2) Generally CPA offers do well using Facebook advertising rather than Clickbank products. However you can try advertising dating products of Clickbank.

        3) Make sure you include price of the product in ad and follow Facebook guidelines for advertising.

        Good Luck.

FaceBook advertising is something like content network on google adwords..

relevancy does not matter..you got to have great offer and then just grab someones attention by headline and image..

I used it once, had low conversion rate, and never did it again..But if done properly, you probably can do well with it..

I don't know is this still on, but you can get $100 of free advertising on FaceBook here The Visa Business Network on Facebook

I have made several connections on facebook that lead to money, or outsourcing partners. I don't use it to advertise, but I have met several people there who I am now doing consulting work to help them build traffic and increase conversions, for a fee of course.

I have also met several writers and graphics designers who I throw some work to when I need it.

I am in a bit different business, but I recently had a local offline business (landscaping) client that I worked with to improve it's sales and reduce it's cost of customer acquisition. For every dollar spent on Facebook, they are getting $9 in revenue.

Thanks guys for the advice. It still seems the overall consensus is FB is a crap shoot. I am not doing affiliate products, I am promoting my own product, so the rules are a little different for me I guess.

For me, not yet. However given some of my conversations with potential affiliates, they are very keen to have me give them ads which can be used on FB...so it must be working for someone!

I do agree though that the picture is going to be the most important part.
