What would you do with 50 hours of fitness videos?

I need some ideas. I have a bunch of fitness videos (group fitness classes like yoga, pilates, step aerobics, kickboxing, weight training, etc.). They were professionally produced and are very high quality. I need to turn them into money. Everyone sells workout DVDs, but I'm convinced from what I have read here and in the war room that this group can come up with something better than that. I'm looking for ideas or maybe even a joint venture partner.

    Fitness membership site.

If they are of the quality you say then you could charge anywhere between $27 to $67 a month.

There are so many things you can do with your own product.

    Here are some suggestions:

    1) Sell PL rights to the videos
    2) Get a PLR ebook on fitness then sell videos as bonus or backend
    3) Create a website using one or some of the videos, generate some income, then sell the site and license rights to use the video on flippa
    4) Sell the videos on amazon as a physical product, use discmojo and kunaki for delivery
    5) Sell on your own website instead of amazon

and the list goes on ...

Watch them all in a back to back marathon. Get REALLY tired watching all those people work up a sweat, then get back to my IM work.

(seriously...a membership site sounds like a fabulous idea with all that material! )

I would apply these methods in the videos, and loose some weight

Just to clarify, you own the copyright to these videos?

What was your original plan with them?

    Definitely, a member fitness site.

Offer up a few hours as teaser and adverts, then provide the rest at a cost of a membership.

I am not sure a membership site would work. There are to many great free programs out there. Exercise videos are cheap to buy and a family membership at the Y runs about $75 a month (depending on area)
In addition certain fitness sites offer complete one off programs for under $100 with lots of forum support.

      Just my opinion though.

Forgive me if this has already been covered, but I tried to find "name" in this thread and didn't find it.

The first thing I'd do is NAME the videos (based in part on what they cover) and buy the domain name. To name is to create, and without a name - what do you have?

A bunch of fitness videos = no money.

'Jeep's Breakthrough Ab Workout' = possibility of money.

      i would be very tired....

      just kidding......

the logical thing seems to be a membership site.

even if you make it free - and sell on the back end....

imagine the leverage you would have with your customers having provided all that value...

Sounds like an ideal product for internet marketers, if pilates doesn't work, try my new yoga classes, if they don't work, try my kick boxing classes - seems to me you have a little corner of the 'next best thing' fitness market.

You need to get the videos to specific programmes together and create a product for each of them - not try to distribute a job lot like some old garage sale.

      @goliathseo - I didn't see a PM

@bretski - Anyone else need a gift for the ex this christmas?

Here is a list of the classes that I have by type:

      Style Total
      Core 7
      Cycle 12
      Kickbox 8
      Pilates 8
      Stretch 4
      Step Aerobics 16
      Treadmill 8
      Weights 11
      Yoga 13

      Total Classes 86

The consist of a combination of 30 min (beginner) and 60 min (advanced) footage.

      So, some follow up questions:

Membership site: Would you structure it as one monthly fee gets them access to the members area? Producing new classes would be expensive. Do I need to try to add new content each month?
Micro Sites: I like this idea. Would you do a micro site and just sell a one time package for the videos and then market the rest of the videos (and maybe other products) on the backend.
Give Away Rights: I have been reading in the forum extensively since I joined. If I had branded versions of the videos to drive traffic to the membership sites that I gave to other Warriors to use for free with give away (or other) rights - Any benefit to that? Anyone interested?

Thanks for the great insight. I think I'm moving in the right direction.

I am interested in you letting me put them on my website if you are open to it. I have a fitness membership site. Are they downloadable? I just want to have the PLR rights to play them on the site, that's all. You can still sell them, etc. Let me know. Just PM me. Thanks!

pls pm me if you decide to do that

you can submit them to youtube, or to those fitness communities. Share them via social bookmarking sites too.

Would you sell the PLR rights to them (all or part)?

Don't waste them submitting them to YouTube. If you're going to do that, edit them down to much shorter videos and use the abbreviated versions to generate leads and traffic.

    Hi.

A membership site is good, but not an ongoing one for the reasons you pointed out. I'd suggest packaging them in such a way that you can drip feed them over a fixed time frame.

I just released a report on this method in the war room and I see you are a member.

It's called: Instant Membership Site Pay Day.

It should give some good ideas to work with.

    Regards,

I would go with membership website.

or if the videos can be divided into categories then each category can also be a separate product if you dont want to go for a membershio site.

Not so sure about a membership site to be honest. Fitness videos are all over youtube etc and they are free. Unless the videos offer something new then you could look at putting them on a fitness site to get traffic, then monetise that traffic with paid workout programs etc (eg all in one diet with weight lifting course). I'd might be interested in the weight lifting videos, will PM you an idea that might help us both.

I would optimize the top 25 categories for youtube and concentrate on using them to drive traffic to a free membership site then focus on a killer email series where you sell them on very specific topics of supplements, nutrition or more exercise. YOU MUST HAVE TRAFFIC and 20 videos optimized correctly on youtube can get you from 1,000 to 10,000 views a day if you know what your doing.

Its pretty easy to convert that into cash
