Squidoo Lens Creation

When you start a lens, how come it asks you for what purpose are you starting it?

It gives you the options:

I want to get the word out about asdf (easiest option)
I'm gonna sell asdf stuff and earn $$, for me or for charity (money maker!)
I want to make a list of my favorite things about asdf (most popular)
I just want to do my own thing.

what's the difference between these options for squidoo?

do they punish you for chosing money maker?

is there one that works better for backlinks, quality, etc?

    It asks you that so it can set up the lens for you. Squidoo will add different modules to your lens for you depending on your purpose.

    No they don't punish you for moneymaker ~ they're just trying to figure out what kinds of modules to put in your lens for you to get you started.

    Squidoo is a good way to get backlinks to your site, and make money.

    I always choose the money maker option. You get a lot of modules that you can use for monetizing your page.

    Then after getting some traffic and money coming in, you could sell it for profit on flippa.

    There's no punishment for this. People are doing all the time and it's one of the main reasons Squidoo was made for.

    This is because there are different presets for different options. I usually chose the I want to do anything I want option because it saves my time from deleting unnecessary modules.

      Squidoo has different default templates for each purpose. IMO, I think "I just want to do my own thing" is the best. Choose your own modules.

      Of course, in the end, it doesn't really matter. You can still delete the modules the template sets up for you (with the exception of the intro module - and that's true of every template).
