I just got into Google Wave Preview - possible new marketing tool?

Hi Warriors,

Today, I just got an email saying that my request to be invited to Google Wave has been accepted.

I am now a beta tester for the Big G.

Anyways, a quick one for those who do not know what Gwave is all about:

It's basically a all-in-one tool for users who use Google to chat with friends, organise stuff, send files, manage their inbox etc in a web browser interface that behaves like a instant messenging software.

What it basically revolutionise is this:

Previously, if a discussion with a group of people takes place via email, the person sends an email and everyone recieves a copy.

Now, with Gwave, a wave is hosting everyone in this discussion and they can contribute or leave the wave to update itself anytime they want.

Result? A continuous flow of the discussion which can be replayed back to see how it flows out

RATHER than the old style of email where different people can respond to their version of the email causing everyone to NOT be as syncronised as they can be.

For more info, check out the main page: About Google Wave

There is a looooooooooooooooong video in it but it shows the cool stuff in Gwave.

Among the cool stuff which makes me excited, within Gwave one of the wave (a.k.a a 'message thread') states features like :
There are tons of ways to use Google Wave--here are just a few examples to get you thinking and an overview video that shows Google Wave in action.
Organizing events

Keep a single copy of ideas, suggested itinerary, menu and RSVPs, rather than using many different tools. Use gadgets to add weather, maps and more to the event.

Meeting notes

Prepare a meeting agenda together, share the burden of taking notes and record decisions so you all leave on the same page (we call it being on the same wave). Team members can follow the minutes in real time, or review the history using Playback. The conversation can continue in the wave long after the meeting is over.
Sample meeting notes
Group reports and writing projects

Collaboratively work in real time to draft content, discuss and solicit feedback all in one place rather than sending email attachments and creating multiple copies that get out of sync.
Sample project
Brainstorming

Bring lots of people into a wave to brainstorm - live concurrent editing makes the quantity of ideas grow quickly! It is easy to add rich content like videos, images, URLs or even links to other waves. Discussion ensues. Etiquettes form. Then work together to distill down to the good ideas.
Sample brainstorm
Photo sharing

Drag and drop photos from your desktop into a wave. Share with others. Use the slideshow viewer. Everyone on the wave can add their photos, too. It is easy to make a group photo album in Google Wave.
Among other features I really love are:

1) Real time syncronisation of time and viewing of typing by others. Less time waiting for people to type finish their sentence, more time reading!
2) A potential international communications tool! There is a robot which can INSTANTLY, yes, read that again, INSTANTLY translate your text in ALL the languages in the world to a common language.

Say you are from China and types Chinese, while I am from Spain typing spanish. We can both type in our native languages into Gwave, and we the help of this robot(basically its like a contact you can add into the Wave) AS we type our text, the robot simultaneously in real time reads AND translates the text into readable language in OUR foreign language for us.

And what's more, the translation isn't lame babylon style translation.

It actually translate the text and THEN organise it into a perfect sentence structure as if the person knows the language we are using.

Basically Gwave is trying to be the next big thing for businesses and project discussion.

And for online Internet Marketers and warriors, especially for JCs and ideas discussion - this is indeed a dream come true IMO.

No more slow conversation, no more slow file sharing, no more seperation of sending files and chatting.

Everything can be done all in one, real-time, chop-chop.

Now, I have 2 aims in starting this thread:

1) If you warriors are interested in starting Gwave, I have invites.

They are limited, but the idea is this: I can invite one or two Warriors, which will in turn invite other Warriors, passing on the invites (like Gmail for those who remembered how Gmail invites worked back then).

I will be interested to have you warriors on my Gwave contact list where we can further our intellectual and entrepreneur discussions.

2) Warriors, warriors. I want to discuss ideas on how we can utilise Gwave for internet marketing fully.

Can we monetise from it?
Can we market using it?
Is it really a good new tool?
Are there better tools that can do what it says already?
Is Google going to take over the world?

Which reminds me: Gwave is probably one.step.closer for Google Chrome OS.

Let's begin the Gwave phase!

ya, i'm not sure how we can use this for IM other than to import your IM contacts and do collective brainstorming. i guess that's not too insightful, but i'm sure we'll be taking advantage soon.

i also have 8 invites left for anyone who wants. send me a PM.

    ken.
