Well I'm pumped now! $1100 weekend

Just had a $1100 weekend - all from niche affiliate sales. Merry Christmas indeed. I can see article marketing paying off for me. I decided to ease up on the backlink packs because they seem to be getting a little saturated. Turned out to be a great move (this was two months ago now almost)

Nothing more or less than I've done for months: write articles. Really it is fruit from all my previous article marketing and SEO work.

Just basic Wordpress blogs with preselling Clickbank products. A bit of video work, RSS, backlinking, the usual. Nothing groundbreaking. (Mind you, we're talking upwards of 50 articles submitted to 5 sites per niche site - plus on/off page SEO and backlink packs - essentially all hard work)

Hehe only been a warrior member for a couple months but I've been doing IM for about a year and a half.

Since a couple people have asked in PM ...

          The basic process is:
          • keyword research
          • find a domain with exact keyword phrase
          • setup hosting (I own a hosting company)
          • setup Wordpress and install 4 or 5 plugins, setup Google analytics
          • post a couple of seed posts with LSI keywords
          • Get myself indexed using a sneaky trick
          • Wait until I'm ranked (usually 12 hours or less)
          • Post a useful article for the niche (often this one is just rewritten PLR)
          • Put in my "money" post with affiliate links and using Pretty Link (Wordpress plugin) to track it
          • Use Pingler.com
          • Onlywire the pages and Social Marker for the ones that inevitably get missed
          • Write articles (usually 2-10 per day depending on how gung ho I'm feeling that day - call to action goes to the domain - Note that I have an Ezinearticles premium account so they usually are accepted within a couple hours
          • Bog standard forum marketing
          • I was using backlink packs but I'm trying to ween myself off them
          • Find another niche and repeat
edit - woops forgot about video and RSS... I usually make a youtube video (or sometimes a few), too

Tools also used: RSSBot, Micro Niche Finder, Market Samurai (mostly for rank tracking), Dragon Naturally Speaking 10, Camtasia Studio

Congrats on the great weekend. Article marketing really does pay off if you do it properly and stick to a plan. If you follow a plan you can get a rythym going and then things start to fall into place.

I use the articles mostly for backlinks, so I don't always make it keyword rich. The main reason is that I find I write much better articles if they are written for humans and I enjoy it a lot more, so I get more done (plus, more people pick them up and post them on their sites...) It actually always surprises me to see people visiting my sites that are (sometimes) completely unrelated to what I've written about.

That said, if I'm in a competitive niche (all the good money makers are) I will often try to rank the article, especially if I see another article already ranking.

All the money sites are ranking 1-3 or so with a few exceptions.

I should also note that this weekend was pretty much my biggest ever, so these results aren't "typical". I've been steadily increasing though.

This pretty much sums up article marketing. It is a lot of hard work in the beginning but all that work eventually starts to pay off in spades.

And, it also seems to last indefinitely. I have sites which I promoted with article marketing that are over 4 years old which I haven't touched or promoted in 4 years and they steadily bring me in money every day.

Congrats to you for putting in the hard work!
