FTC "Guidelines" and Amazon

If you have an Amazon store (where the store is actually populated by Amazon)...obviously you get a commission if someone buys, but there's no way to put a disclaimer at each link as you don't control the page. Is this something to be concerned about? Amazon doesn't seem to address this anywhere on their site...why would they...not their problem.

How about individual product "Widgets" or direct associate links to an Amazon, CJ or similar kind of product page with no "review" on your site?

I have a headache.

  • I wouldn't worry about it. It's not like Amazon hasn't got teams of lawyers covering their A^^

Yeah I would love to see FTC take on Amazon, eBay, Google etc.

      1. Amazon, seller list product, buyer buys it and Amazon take commission but no where does it say on Amazon about this. Does this mean Amazon is not following FTC rules

      2. Same with eBay, again eBay makes money showing your products to buyers. Where does on eBay it says anything about FTC rules

I can recommend to you the most brilliant migraine product for which I happen purely coincidentally to be an affiliate, but I must mention to you that individual results with the product may vary, those described may not be typical or average in any way, and that I earn a commission on any purchase made through my recommendation.
      Thanks - I needed that!

If you have an Amazon store, there's clearly no attempt to deceive the public about your commercial intent because it's..well, a store. You know, where people buy stuff. Why would you need a further disclaimer?

If you operate a blog or website which isn't clearly a commercial enterprise and you use that vehicle to recommend or endorse a product, you should make it clear to your visitors that you are being financially compensated for doing so.

      It's really just about transparency.
