blah! Old worn and tired. About as motivating as javascripts that count time based on your computer settings.

You mean if I don't buy right now I'll never be able to buy again? Darn.

And it's used everywhere.

Rush in now before that Chrysler 300 goes back up to its regular price.

Like I won't be able to every buy a car again.

Anyone ever get suckered in by the Last Chance Ever ploy? I guess if it converts for you it converts for you. For me... it's an invitation to unsubscribe.

I actually think they do work in certain fields, It triggers a response for the ones who are on the fence about a product.
If people are using it... it works plain and simple.
You're going to find it everywhere you look and it sometimes can be very subtle.
There are so many tests done for sales and if it works it gets used continually until it doesn't anymore.
If people have a time limit it, it pushes them a tiny bit further to buying a product.
I hate time limits but I will tell you this if they were not in place most of the world wouldn't buy a dang thing.

Frankly, it did work for me when I thought that the products I was considering were scarce. But now I know that if I pass up this guy's list-building "blueprint," there will be another list-building "blueprint" coming along any minute now. Maybe it worked because I was a newbie and unsophisticated.

I know a little better now and they are easy to resist. And I don't buy the "blueprint" cliche anymore, either.

I think if you are in IM for just a short time, you know that most of this "hurry because this offer will close soon" is just scam. But maybe it still works on a normal user wo didn't see already 1000 sales pages.

Some people mean it and some people use it as a ploy.

The ones that use it as a ploy actually make it more effective for those who stand by their limit.

I saw one a while back when the time was ticking down and said.."buy now before the time runs out on this bargain"...or something along the lines of that.

Just because I was bored, I exited the page, then re-entered, and the timer started again from the top.

I couldn't stop laughing after this one...

Ok, no one is allowed to laugh (at least not out loud, I'm in a library). But I totally fell for it once from a major online persona a long time back. (It was maybe 19 or 20 seasons ago. Fine. In '04.)

I remember I emailed and I think even called apologizing that if I could just have a few more hours to think about it, but the date said only until 22 hours from now.

I finally gave up as I didn't hear back from them. But man was I excited when I logged back in the next day and the good people at ****** had extended the promotion for me! I must have been one of a lot of people calling that day that they would do something so nice and add in some more time.

Um.....so.....snicker away. (You've got until tomorrow at midnight)
