My First Blog

Hello,

Well, Im on my way here setting up my first blog and I'm kinda stuck.

Im a newb to this so I am not sure what to do next.

Its going to be a sort of gossip blog site and I have got a domain, registered for hosting with dreamhost and did a one click install for wordpress. I Added Titles, changed permalinks, added some wordpress plug ins that I see are commonly recommended here and in a few other places I have read and have selected a theme.

My biggest problem is I dont knwo where to go next. I want to get soem ads on my blog to bring in some revenue and my page doesnt look quite right yet - I need to fix the contact form and I think I may change the theme. Also, Im not sure if all the plug-ins are actually working or not, Im not how to configure them. They are all "Activated" but I have no idea if that means they are working properly.

I guess Im kinda looking for suggestions.
