Question for Ghostwriters

2 replies
I have recently started my own ghostwriting service and I am starting to get a few clients. A new contact has stumped me with a question.

The client wants to publish a book and would like for me to write it. He believes the book will be approximately 150 to 200 pages in length. He also wishes for me to read a couple of books as background information before I begin writing. Based on the format he is requesting (he wants this to have the feel of a first person story, rather than a self help book) I feel that I will need to communicate a lot with him via email for the completion of each chapter.

His questions to me were: 1) How long do you think it would take to write the book? nd 2) How much do you charge?

I do not have the slightest idea how to answer either question since I have never written a book. Any suggestions?

    Okay. I'm confused.

    You've started a ghostwriting service, but you don't know how long it's going to take you to write a book or how much to charge?

    :confused::confused:

      Frank's right. Do some competitor research to find out what you should be charging.
