Feedback on my plan of action wanted

Hi - I have been doing my best to digest all the excellent information here at WF and have come up with a plan of action to market the first of my 2 websites.

I would be really appreciative of any feedback/comments/criticisms on my plan.

The Website is a Real Estate Flipping Site that sells an EBook - 'Home Flipping Kit'. The main content of the site is informative articles on topics such as buying/renting/flipping.

Plan of Action:
1) I have created an adwords campaign of for 2 keyword phrases have managed first page (4th) google placement with a 12cent bid. I don't know exactly what the top three ads are paying, but according to the keywords estimate probably about $1.50 a click. So I was quite happy with my .12 cents. I plan to add considerably more keyword phrases to my campaign so too if I can get clicks/traffic up.

2) I plan to add adsense to the site once the traffic is up. I would make more money obviously if my product was purchased - so maybe I will wait to see what kind of conversion I get before adding adsense (thoughts?)

3) I am going to try to increase organic traffic to the site as well by submitting articles to Ezine and others (recommendations?)

4) I'm considering backlinking - but have not yet done enough research here to totally understand the best places to back link and the etiquette around that.

5) I plan to adjust the site so that when users download my free product they have to opt-in to my mailing list and then around that list I am going to create an auto-responder that will follow-up with my list and hopefully convert to sales via another product (probably a click-bank one)

Ok - so that's how far I have thought through my action plan - looking forward to the responses..

Christine

The one thing that immediately caught my eye was when you mentioned Adsense.
It's an horrific mistake to try and sell your products AND have adsense on the page.

Some people will argue that the Adsense will act as a safety net for making you a few bucks if the person does not buy your product, but what they don't realise is that in most cases it was the Adsense themselves that cause the visitor to click away.

Plus, you don't really want to drive Adwords traffic to Adsense. Arbitrage on the Google network is a topic on it's own oh golly.

No - not traffic really yet - but my adwords campaign needs more keywords. Once I proved 2 keyword phrases could get first page google - I will repeat for more key phrases which should hopefully jump my traffic.

If it jumps (fingers crossed) I'm hoping for sales.

Adwords is a great way to test a landing page IF you know what you are doing - otherwise you may lose a lot of money.

So if you know how to use Adwords properly - that is a great way to start. Make sure you split test your ads and your landing page and keep improving them for a maximum conversion rate.

In addition, you should definitely do article marketing and use other free traffic methods. There's a lot of information about that in the forum.

Definitely no to Adsense - it will take potential buyers away from your site.

Thanks for the advice so far - I was concerned about the cost of adwords - at .12cents a click I do need a purchase about every 190 clicks to break even.

I'm going to have to do a bit of research on split testing - I'm guessing use ads with different wording to see which ones get more clicks? As for split testing my landing page - I guess you mean use a different one for each ad?

I will steer away from adsense for now.

For organic marketing I'm going to try article submission and then backlinking - but do need to do a bit more research first.

    Thanks!
