Putting numbers at the end of a domain makes it look like a tracking domain for a PI campaign.

Here is the problem of using numbers...

If you do not register the characters also then you could be shooting yourself in the foot, depending upon your marketing.

Example : if I register ILoveYou2.com and I market this domain name then all my competition has to do is register ILoveYouToo.com and ILoveYouTwo.com. The reason being is because if you do any kind of audio / radio marketing then your customers will get confused on which to use.

This falls back on the same reason why you would register .com and .net of the same domain name, becase your customers may check the .net if they see the .com and they may check the .com if they seen the .net.

So unless you really want to invest the money into protecting your name by register the others then I personally would suggest staying away from numbers.

I had a client one time that used to use numbers but he also registered all the similar names and he registered the .com, .net, and .org. He ended up registering about 120 domain names just for 5 or 6 products. Course he had the money to invest and + it was a huge tax write-off ..lol

Think up another domain .... I just registered a new 5 letter .com and .net today ... Many claim they are all gone but this is not true...

You just have to use your creativity and think a little.
