ANy one Tested this? Auto Video Play Vs Press play On sale page

i have heard that since 80% of the people browse the net while at work in their offices its best not to have a Video that starts automatically because then they will have to close the page right away so they dont get in trouble for goofing around at work.

i also know its pretty effective to have the vid playing right away and they will pretty much go in to a trace and will have to listin to the whole thing.

i want to know if any one has tested this. obviously i need to split test this tofind out , just curiosu to know if its been done before and your thoughts

    The biggest problem is when my 10 year ups the volume to full on my speakers...and then forgets to tell me.

    Hey Sean,
    I can't say that i have actually tested this out, although i would pretty interested in trying it, but i have read from some very reputable IM's that it is better to not start any videos automatically as this is most often viewed as the kind of content that spammers create. This makes sense to me bc/ whenever i view a website where a video starts automatically i am automatically kind've turned off by it and view it as just someone trying to make a sale usually. If you test it out let me know your results.

      Interesting question as I have seen marketers use both. However, in my own experience I think it is best to let the user have control over when to start the video. Which is why I still like to use some sort of sales copy because if the person does not have the time to sit through a video or is at work they can still read what I have to offer.

      However, I would be very interested to see some accurate test results if anyone has really tested this.
