artisteer but better?

Hello Warriors,

I have been playing around with Artisteer and I like it but is there a better program available?

I like getting my themes custom made but sometimes I like to do my own and well artisteer is a little basic.

Any ideas

Danny

I just Aristeer recently and yet to play with it. I hope it's easy to learn and apply without too much headache? Can you now create a custom blog with it ever since you bought it?

I love Artisteer. I first got it because I had a static website and wanted to add a blog with the same look as the site. It was frustrating trying to get everything to look right. Once I got Artisteer, I was able to easily take my site's header and make it the header for the blog.

Since then, I've gotten into putting up lots of blogs for different niches and nothing beats Artisteer for speed and simplicity.

If you're just starting to play with it, here's one little tip:

I had a hard time getting the sheet the right color until I noticed the transparency option. If you choose a color for your sheet and it's not working, bring the transparency down to zero.

Other than that one annoying thing, just play with it and you'll find it's very very easy to use and kind of fun.

I also think Artisteer is good because every theme I build now has the same code layout so it has bought a lot of consistency to my sites.

So if I want to tweak a theme I know where the code is straight away because they are all the same.

Saves a heap of time trying to decipher the developers code when you use a number of different themes.

Use the Atahualpa Theme. You can do pretty much anything you like with that.

PM me if you'd like some examples.

I like artisteer also but wish it was a little bit more flexible... I don't think it's possible to put your rss feed icon in the header section (where it's usually located) and that always ticks me off... I sent the artisteer group an email about it but I haven't seen any changes yet... I haven't used it in a few weeks so who knows maybe they've changed it by now.

Artisteer is a basic or as complicated as you want it to be if you like to do your own code - it only produces standard WordPress theme files, nothing special. Just have it do the work that you don't want to and edit the rest of it's efforts out, adding to, replacing and moving what you don't like. It can be a great time-saver if you know what you're doing and, just as vitally, know what it's been doing too.
