Finding the Best Keywords for Blog Posts

Before I write a post on a topic on my blog, I normally head to the AdWords keyword tool to search for the topic, and to see what the most popular keywords are. I incorporate these keywords into the title, as well as into the post.

Are there other or better techniques I can use to do this...to find out what the best keywords are for my topic? or is AdWords the best source?

    The keyword tool is good for this.

    If you go for the most popular kws you'll have to do more than writing a kw optimized article. You will have to backlink promotion for that very article to get any chance of listing well. At least if it's a competetive kw.
