Is There Any Good Web-based Site Builder Tool/Script?

Hello Everybody,

I run a community website. It's more of a business networking website, in a particular niche. I want members of my community to be able to create websites using an online site builder script that I would give them access to.

At the moment, I'm not looking at something major, so I'm guessing a good free multiple-user site builder should do. I wouldn't mind paying up a little for a good script, though.

Are there any such tools/scripts? My site is hosted on Linux, so any php script would run smoothly.

    Why not use wordpress MU?

    It's a thoroughly developed tool, has tons of documentation and demo videos, and it's free.

      Hi,

      There are a few free web based site builders that are free to use you could just simply put a link to one of them on your site . otherwise you can search for open source scripts or try matts script archive or something that allows free scripts to be downloaded under GPl (open source)or.....you could also try web dwarf it is a free web builder but it is an application so unless you can run it directly off the server you could just offer it as a download. just a few thoughts

        Like the person said above-Wordpress. Also, I would look into Joomla. However, Joomla has a steep learning curve.

    WD, thanks for your insights. I've searched recently, without much success. I'm taking a look at Matt's Script Archive right now. I hope I can find something.

    I've looked into the option of WP-MU, am just not sure about the availability of themes beyond CMS/magazine and blog templates. I'll probably just need to look deeper.

    Let's just say that I'm still evaluating options... So, if you generous veterans can suggest me a few more names, that would be great.
