I see many people on Social Media, jumping on Twitter and Facebook and pitching their Landing Page, MLM or Affiliate product. Then they complain that Social Media doesn't work....duh.... I find giving value, even if you are just retweeting something from Mashable, works the best. Asking questions and exchanging ideas. I have met more amazing people, new joint ventures and women.....I mean new friends from both Twitter and Facebook. How else are people are Marketing on Social Media? |

with Facebook you can join groups that are in your niche or why not create one yourself? By joining groups you can talk to just one part of your list rather than everybody.

I think the general rule is to use social media as a way to foster interactions with potential partners and customers. If you're planning on just using them as a giant squeeze page, you're probably going to have problems.

Easy! BE GENUINE. Talk to people, get to know them, foster relationships. Don't have the ulterior motive to sell sell sell! Be kind, compassionate, and interested. That's the key. |

Social media can be very powerful when done right. It also depends on your target audience and where you think you will meet them and what kind of relationship you want to establish with them. Building up popularity for your brand and site never hurt either. I say go for it and worse comes to worse, cut it loose. It's not an easy thing to use as it requires your full dedicated, so if you don't have the time to properly manage all your mediums then it may not be the right time for you to jump on the social media bandwagon. Personally, I only use LinkedIn and I use that to meet other professionals as well as service providers that I may do business with in the future. I have thought about twitter and facebook, but then again do I want my personal life mixed in with my professional life? That's something to consider. Hope it all works out for you. Kind regards, Yazan |

My strategy is to build a following of people who will hang on my every word when I write something new. In the niche that I'm in there are alot of followers, and if I keep them interested in what I'm saying they come back again and again. After that I build a newsletter and get them to sign up to see even more of my unconventional content.

It is always the same when new trends come out you will always get people who will blatantly go out and spam it to try and get a few sales. I much prefer the building relationships route. If you provide valuable information people will be interested on what you are going to write next. Quality content over blatant spam always wins out in the end. I use twitter and facebook but I build my followers slowly and over time. I do my postings manually and don't use any automated software. Maybe people will think this is wrong and time consuming but i think it gives it a more personal feel. Pete |

I just started with twitter and i do add value to every tweet i create, providing article links i wrote or reviews. Twitter looks indeed powerful and the followers seems to increase exponentially with every tweet i make. Is this suppose to be the case?

Personally, I hate social media, it is to distracting and can consume a lot of time to make it work. But if I was to maker it to it, all I would do is put a profile link in my bio and talk.

| SEO was optimizing for algorithm. SMM is communication with people. There a completly different rules. Spam dont work for peoples but if you can wake up there interest they start to multiplying your messages for you. It would be interesting to see how good the technophil SEO - masters whould arranged themselves with clouds of human beings. ![]() In SMM the time of automized mechanism is over, there do you have to provide interesting, usefull content. |
