Conversion Amazon Product

What kind of conversion should I expect promoting an Amazon product? So far, I have probably gotten 100 unique page views for one of my product reviews, but only 10 clickthroughs to the amazon product and no purchases. It is kind of disheartening.

I was thinking however that the conversion rate for an Amazon product is probably a lot less high than a highly targeted info product. What are your guys thoughts?

You should be converting minimum at least 1% for a targetted site. Create some banners to encourage CTR with call to action

Somehow, I couldn`t got any significant success with Amazon product.
Not sure why. Maybe its over saturated or something. I got better results with other products.

My experience with Amazon has been that I have an incredibly high CTR to Amazon from my websites (on some of my sites it's something like 99.9%) but the amount of people who end up buying something is significantly lower. It's still around 10% according to Amazon but I think that's because many people buy multiple things and the conversion rate is based on amount of things bought divided by amount of clicks. My real conversion rate is probably closer to 8%.

A few questions: What are you selling (you can be general if you don't want to reveal your secrets)? Is it Christmas related? Does the product have good reviews? Does it have a good price compared to other places on the Internet? A few bad reviews or a horrible price will kill conversions no matter how awesome your sales page is. On the other hand a product with great reviews, a good price, and a sense of urgency (ie- it's a popular Christmas gift) will generally bring in great conversions if you're able to have a nice call to action which gets people clicking from your site to Amazon.

Yeah make sure the traffic is targeted and promote Christmas type products that are in demand for the holidays. Digital cameras, GPS Systems, Zhu Zhu hamsters are hot for example. Video games etc... As long as your getting some decent traffic you should start converting.

It's the holiday season! You should be getting a lot of click thru's.

Are you offering a variety of choices on your page...i.e amazon links, shareasale links, ebay listings?

if so I'd cut back on that, I tried that in the past and I just decided to keep the amazon links, now i'm averaging 10 SALES a day on one site and my conversion rate is hovering around 45%

    Impressive of on the 45%!

What do you think your secret is in getting people to buy once they're on Amazon? As I said before, I have a great CTR from my sites to Amazon but making a sale once they're on Amazon has proven to be more difficult than a product like IPK would make you believe.
