Google love or hate for aStores

I'm having trouble getting an (Amazon)aStore indexed, is there any Google love for aStores? I have seen others indexed so it's possible and I know you can't do much 'on page' SEO but is it better to insert your store into a website rather than try to get a standalone store indexed?

TIA

You cannot direct link or build backlinks directly to an aStore. You can put it on a site and build backlinks to that page.

So how does an aStore get on the first page in Google?

If you build links to your main website (especially the specific page your aStore link is on) those links carry through to your aStore indirectly. It takes much more to rank it this way, but it can be done.

Contact amazon, a few times now I have contacted them asking questions like this and I usually get a response within a day.

          So Aaron,
I'm a little confused about this. What would you say is the best method to setup an "astore"?

The problem with an astore in the normal way where you use it on a website is that it's in an iframe and that means that the content of your astore is not on your site.
And Google and other search engines look at your page and do not see the content of your store only the content before and after if any.

So if you want to rank for a certain term you should build content your self and use the astore as additional content. There is no way that you can succeed with ease to get good rankings for an astore that you embed in your site.

You might think I am biased as I sell a plugin for creating Amazon sites with wordpress but do your investigation on the topic seo and iframes and you will see what I mean

What we usually do, is build backlinks to other site pages and then lead the buyers to the aStore from there...

It's worked really well for us now for a long time.

Building the authority of your site, and simply using Amazon as the profit center... Focus on building the strength of your main website and pages.

    Peace
