Starting a Membership Site

I am exploring starting a membership site and wanted to get some input. I have ideas for the niche and the product, but I could use some suggestions on software, business model and any other thoughts. Thanks!

I have used Amember for my membership site...but Wordpress Wishlist looks good...I have a friend that's using it and he likes it a lot. Plus he said it's a little more "plug and play" than Amember.

Also, in my experience, it's easier to fill up a membership site by giving away a thirty-day trial to the site as a bonus for buying a product. I do give people the option to opt out of the trial if they want.

Amember integrated into Wordpress is the best choice, you would need to do some coding etc (or get someone else too)
The best way I learned to build membership sites from Ryan Deiss is to sell a SLO (self liquidating offer) ie a product related to your niche, then from then you add a 30 day trial to your membership along with your product. So you are effectively killing two birds with one stone.
The idea comes from Ryan Deiss "Million Dollar Napkin"

You do have to opt in to watch the video but it is great content,

    Hope that gets you going...
