Can I have brand name in the domain name?

I found great domain I want to use for IM with brand name in it. My question is it legal to buy this and put some amazon prodicts on? For example: if I buy SeikoWatchCenter.com and sell Seiko watches through amazon will I get in trouble?
If I will what kind of trouble?

Whenever you are not sure, contact the company in question directly.

You will be 100% sure then, rather than get differing opinions from others.

You should speak to a trademark lawyer but as a rule any time you have a trademark in a domain you are very likely to lose that domain very quickly to the trademark holder. They are protecting themselves.

You're more than likely to get in trouble, unfortunately. A better idea is to buy something like BlablaEtcWatchCenter.com and then target your Seiko watch keywords with that.

    @debukur,
A few days ago you thanked a post that said:

"Just make sure that when registering a
domain name that you are not first infringing
upon any company or corporation trademarks,
which can land you in a great deal of trouble.
    "

I thought you were reading the posts before saying thankyou...

It is VERY EASY to contact the company and get an answer.

I was able to use a brand in the past.

If you don't get an answer, then don't do it.

I have seen several cases when the owner of these type of domain had to give up the domains to the parent company; just because the owner did not ask for permission.

Another website the same owner have uses a domain with the brandname on it, but with permission.

It may not happen right away or may not happen at all, but Seiko can take that domain from you any time they want to. They could also sue you if they want to. If you want to put work into a site and make it profitable only to find that Seiko is not happy with you using their trademark, it's up to you.
