Why is it so freaking hard to get Platinum on ezine?

I am member with EZA since 2007 (!). I didn't write too much on the account since i outsource most of the work.

I am STILL "Basic PLUS" and i slowly get a little cranky.

It happened already two times that i was waiting for the Platinum upgrade, but was re-instated Basic PLUS and need to submit another 25 articles for a possible platinum membership.

Now, a a couple days ago i could've sworn i finally made it because i submitted my articles again and reached the limit - so i was eagerly waiting to get upgraded.

Now i just got the mail i need to submit another 25 for possible Platinum upgrade.

The reason is that i have some links like mysite .com/page.html (with a sub-page)

What irks me is that all my last articles were accepted...but THEN they complain (afterwards) i need to go over my links since those kind of links are not allowed.

I dont have much to complain about EZA (actually acceptance can happen VERY quick for me, within hours sometimes) - but getting their Platinum stats is a ****ch. Especially since i know other writers who got theirs right away...and i am with them for almost three years now and still have Basic...

They do allow subpages unless it is an affiliate redirect, then you need a top level domain.

The only thing you can do is make sure that the articles are of the highest quality and that they link to something decent. Also make sure the links work. Don't skimp on word count.

When they ask you why you should upgrade, tell them that you have been submitting quality, original articles and will continue to do so - making quality a priority. Point out that none (of the 25) were rejected.

Having said that, I do believe they are making it tougher these days. Any mistakes, and you are at square one again.

Believe me, my articles are of high quality. The URL with the sub page is NOT a redirect, its my own site. I do have some articles with domain redirects, but those are all TLDs (top level domains). Also, when it comes to upgrading they dont ask me anymore, they did that the first time (as far as i remember)..but now it says just to wait for the submissions to be reviewed.

In the same boat George. Still "plus" after years on my first account.

The rules say you can link to your own subpages but if you get a "new" editor reviewing and they say no for that reason. Stuck at plus again. No appeals. Had it happen about 3 times now. I think my account has a bad rep now. Bet the notes say "WARNING: refused platinum before"

I just started a new account to see if that one can get upgraded.

i was thinking about it...but then another account could be fatal, AFAIK you can only have one. So i guess its back to "25 more" and then hope... ;/

I experience similar frustration. I get the impression they're trying to tighten up the quality, then I read articles they've accepted with pitiful grammar and no real content.
Someone advanced the thought that they had too many Platinums who had slacked off and let their quality decline, so they decided to raise the bar.

(Sometimes I wonder if they don't hire a new editor occasionally who has to prove how tough they are.)
