Question About Blogger Domain

I purchased a domain name and there are two ways to use it with blogger forwarding to the blogger address and a more complicated way. The people at Godaddy told me it will not matter in search engines which way I go. Cn anyone comment as to the truth of this. I obviously will learn the more complicated way if it will help traffic.     What are you using the domain for? Is it just a redirect to the blogger site or is it for a redirect to a vendor product. There are only 2 ways I know of to forward a domain in godaddy. These are normal domain forward and domain forward with masking. If it for a redirect to a vendor product to use with adwords or ezine then I alwsays use forward with masking because that is the only way I can get it to work. The other way is to just do a forward from your cpanel account.
