Selling a website, thoughts on Flippa and Escrow?

Hey guys.

I'm looking to sell a website and would like your thoughts about flippa.com

Also, I have no experience with escrow.com - is this a good way to go,
or is it better to go through a lawyer, etc.

I'd rather not have an auction, just a straight sale.

Thanks

For straight sales, I use DN forums such as DNF and NP. I've sold names using escrow. Buyer makes deposit and escrow locks it then you make transfer and once transfer is complete you get paid.

If your site is unique and with traffic, flippa is the best place to sell.

Escrow works well. They transfer the money, you transfer the site and the money is released. You can set the inspection period for whatever you want. I would set it low as it is a website and they've already had ample time to inspect it. Not like it's going to change.

As for auction vs sale, my reserve is normally close to my BIN as my BIN is the price that I want for the site. I set my opening bid high enough to keep all the little fake bidders away that bid $100 on just about everything.

Escrow is great for selling domains and websites. Don't use paypal unless small transaction.
I'm in the market for profitable websites at a reasonable price. Please PM.

I sell alot of websites online. My most of the listing in on flippa.com and it is working best for me rather than dp.

I also use warrior forum to sell my websites. You can try both of them. Therefore you will have an idea.

With flippa, it cost $19 to list with them,
and you get half off if it doesn't sale.

I havn't tried DP or WF sitesell, but I'd
    go in this order:

    1. flippa
    2. WF
    3. DP

If your site doesn't sale with with one
of these sites, there's something wrong.

Also, you when your using flippa, have the
buyer pay for all costs. They will, if you ask
    for it .

The best way to see what your website is
worth is to set up a standerd auction, and
you'll get bidders up to the value of your
    offer.

And no,your site does NOT have to be unique
with traffic, because I sell sties without it. It
depends on how YOU want to use flippa, and
in your case, you'll do just fine

Curious. No one has mentioned eBay. Don't you get a high enough price there or just wondering why it's not being offered as an option? I've heard that people start to want to win so much that they drive the prices up.

What if Escrow is not available in your country?

    I receive an error message:
1/28/2010 1:49:15 PM: Your access to Escrow.com has been denied.
each time I try to connect, yet I didn't create any Escrow account on my computer.
