Hey everyone, How often should you update your blog with an entry in WP in order to get the best seo possible? |

The more the better. Even several per day is good. But don't do what you can't sustain. With my new blogs, I normally post at least once per day, after that then once per week minimum. With the default settings (pinging on) then this is enough to get indexed and start to receive traffic, without even leaving a backlink anywhere. I have some blogs over 6 months old that don't need posting to anymore but the traffic will drop off if I don't go back to at least once per week posting. |

Thanks guys. Well since this blog is brand new I think I am going to go ahead and post once per day for awhile, then after that maybe once every 2 or 3 days.

You should update with at least 3 times a weak. And remember the content shoud be of higher quality if you dont update every day. You can search this forum and find out what people really want to know more about.

It depends on what you're doing. I have an old flagship blog that hasn't had a significant update since 2007 yet it gets 1000-1500 visitors every weekday, slightly fewer on weekends. Why? Because it's well optimized and well linked for certain keywords. The same is true for the product review blog in my sig where I haven't done a new post in a while. My niche blogs rarely see a new post after they're launched. Now, if you're wanting to pursue trends, like TMZ, TechCrunch, or Mashable, and go after social referral traffic rather than search traffic, you'll need to update as often as you are physically able. This will tire you out quickly unless it's something you really enjoy doing. |

Here is what I do. When I have my site up I post 5-10 posts immediately so it is running. And try to make them more then 450 word. Than at the beginning I post at least one post everyday for 30-60 days and then 3 posts per week. Like Monday, Wednesday and Friday or something. Mehmet |

It is good to update your blog as often as possible but do not post irrelevant material just to get a blog post. Make sure the posts you post are full of information and are valuable posts. If you have less posts but they are all high quality this will keep the interest of the visitors you do get rather than a bunch of low quality posts. Pete |
