How can I find the top blogs in my niche?
How will I know they get a lot of traffic?

Any thoughts?

I'll answer your first two questions. As for the others, I'm not too sure what you're asking.

To find the top blogs in your niche, type your niche's keywords, or keyword phrase, into Google. Whatever blogs it kicks out in the top positions are what they have ranked as the top blogs in your niche.

As far as how much traffic they could be getting, use the Google Adwords Keyword Tool. It's free. Again, type in your keyword or keyword phrase, and Google will tell you what the average traffic is. Either globally or locally. And take those numbers with a grain of salt. They are not carved in stone.

    Hope that helps...

You can use Alexa to find top sites in your niche. Just type in a keyword and away you go.

      Thanks for the quick responses!

I do have a new website (90% done but I'm starting to spread the word).
I have a DVD on improving memory and I've been learning how to drive traffic to my site.

After lots of keyword research, I've just started to write articles, I'm sending out a press release later this week, but I wanted to also find other ways to drive traffic to the site.

Try technorati to find the top blogs in your niche. Use their blog search engine and only look for blogs with a lot of authority. That should be a good place to start.

I recommend Google Advanced blog search as well. Search on your keywords and see what kind of blogs come up, this can cast the net a bit wider than just pure traffic, it helps with relevance and also might give you some ideas on other places that your topic is discussed other than a blog that is only covering that topic.

Create a definite plan for carrying out your desire and begin at once, whether you are ready or not, to put this plan into action.
