How A 15-year old Kid Makes $15,000 in a Day!

If you have not heard of Cameron Johnson, you are missing out great lessons of internet marketing. He started a chain of online businesses, 12 all of them and sold for a
tidy profit.

One of the online success, SurfingPrizes.com makes him $15,000 a day and this
was even featured on Yahoo! Magazine and Newsweek, and he is only 15 years old!!
SurfingPrizes.com has a simple idea, paying people to surf the web! And this idea actually
came from a competitor with a $10 million venture capital backing..

Now he don't even call himself an internet marketer, did not really care about
seo, ppc, adwords, articles etc...

He calls himself an Entrepreneur... not an internet marketer... i wonder if this is
the only reason that he is successful?

As i read his book "You call the shots", i quickly ask myself why am i bothering
with all these seo, ppc tricks to get onto first page of google, when the real guru
like Cameron is focusing on opportunities, people needs and wants, their problems,
how to make people's job/tasks easier....

..... i thought i was missing the entire picture of making money online....

For those who have not make a cent in internet marketing yet, i will urge you
to focus on people's problem, needs and wants and forget about all the tricks
that the gurus teaches you....

The thing about people's needs is that everyday, people got new problems
needs and wants. And it's up to you find the the solution for them.

Now, that's a big niche coming on 25th Dec... that's Christmas and also
time when people will spend tons of money on gifts, toys, dinning, holidays...

Talking about toys... the hottest toy now is Zhu Zhu Pet hamster...

could you make some money writing a blog post on this toy?

Any thoughts and feelings about this post?

Any niche you will like to share?

    Thomas thanks for sharing this.

Not sure I totally agree though ... a lot of the "tricks" are bread and butter ways of promoting your business online and will most likely work for you. 99% of us earn money through hard graft. I reckon 99% of self-made rich people worked their way up from not-so wealthy levels, earning money to just survive. Using SEO, Article Marketing and all that does work and it will make you more money than hoping your idea is just good enough to capture peoples imagination.

There will be lucky people like the boy you mentioned, who like are essentially the same as lottery winners. There are millions of boys as smart as him who just haven't made that break even if they had great ideas. They don't get reported of course, there is no news item on them!

I looked at SurfingPrizes.com and its 1 of those search engine results sites, everytime you click on a keyword it gives u sponsored results, lame website if your after true content.

So being 15 yr's of age I would'nt imagine paypal and the like would allow him to have an account.

    Have to say I'm skeptical.

A little Googling and you would have found this - The First Million: Cameron Johnson - Forbes.com

It appears he started his first "business" at 9.

Have to wonder why the current owner of the surfingprizes site has abandoned completely the strategy that was making $15,000/day when Cameron owned the site. I can't see them making much of anything doing what they're doing now.

Just went to the site and it's parked. Did I go to the wrong URL? Could be that the model is out dated and advertisers aren't willing to do that kind of stuff anymore. I wouldn't blame them, they were essentially throwing out their money.

The online business world is very dynamic and changing...

In fact, this is what gives entrepreneurs like us many opportunities to make money
            online...

If the world does not change, no new products created, there will be little chance
for us to become the next millionaire ....

So open your eyes and ears and look out for the next big opportunity... it may be
            just under your nose....

I am very happy to start my posting from here. Truly inspiring story. As previously mentioned, age is no bar to have success. I like to be inspired by these kinds of success stories. Delighted to read his story in forbes. Kudos to his achievements.

This is a lesson in why complicate things?

Isn't this what we're all doing, when you get right down to it? Every marketer ultimately is providing an answer of some kind to a problem. We just call the problem by different names, like 'want' or 'need.'

$15,000 a day is pretty crazy.

I remember making my first $5,000 in 2 weeks when I was 15. Truly amazing feeling.

But this shows that age is no barrier for success

    Great inspirational post!

Even if this were not trure it still inspires others to get off their butt and make something of themselves. If a kid can do it, why not me, right?

I do agree though that far too many of us concentrate solely on the IM niche and how we can get involved and create products specifically for that nice whilst others just watch the news, keep their ears open, participate in forums then come up with a solution to solving peoples problems. So simple when you think about it!

    Thanks,
    Steve.

Inspiring. Of course, the internet is a different beast than it was 5 years ago. New competitors, new algorithms, new rules, etc.

Thomas, you're missing the point a bit.

Focus on what people want and the 'guru tricks' are a means to giving more people what they want, more quickly and effectively.

Skip the part about offering what people want, and all the tricks in the world won't help you.

Selling what people want and what you label as 'guru tricks like seo, ppc, etc.' are not mutually exclusive.

A college degree should not matter either. I am a college dropout myself and I have finally found a way to make money on the internet. It is about having the right knowledge and knowhow. Then you go out and apply what you have learned. I like learning by actually doing what I have been taught. What good is reading an ebook about making money on the internet if you do not take action and apply what you have learned? You have just wasted your knowledge for nothing and have lost your return on investment.

Yes! Cameron is on the entrepreneur side of things (Facebook, Google, Yahoo) where HUGE money is made. The other side is the IM side which involves PPC, articles, niche businesses.

Facebook and Google is basically a higher form of IM. These businesses bring life to IM businesses.

Which side will you be on?

in brick and mortar life there are the convenience stores and then there are the walmarts... both of these are creation of entrepreneurs. On the internet there's the same. There are Internet marketers and then there are startup entrepreneurs. They're both entrepreneurs just different styles.

I have always focused on "big ideas" before I even discovered Internet marketing. Now I'm getting a feel for this and really like how much im learning here.

wanna check out one of my "big ideas" I'm asking for advice on it in another thread soon.
