Default What do YOU do to find clickbank products to promote?

I have read SO many different things about this, yet I still haven't sorted out what's best...

Someone tells you to promote products with gravity of 60-100. Others tell you to look at the salespage and promote it if you think it will convert. And others are all in on programs that generates a residual income...

So what do YOU look for?

High/low gravity?
High/low percentage of referrers?
Commission?
Popularity?
New products?
Software?

Replies are well appreciated!

Screw finding a product... find a hungry crowd first, then give them what they are hungry for. Don't take a product and then try to fit it to someone.

If you are talking about once you are ready to find the product, then I just look at a little bit of everything... their page, is it good or crap? what do they offer affiliate? is there program any good?

I agree on that one.
The market is, of course the most important, but I mean after you have your market.

I have seen so many "formulas" on this. ( They don't concider the market though)
Are there any good software for identifying CB products btw?

I use PPC to promote CB products. I only focus on high converting keywords for each product and only pay clicks for those.

Since I don't get a lot of clicks, I need to do this across hundreds of products but each click cost is extremely low and payout is great. I never lose money doing it this way, just need some patience.

I try getting mostly GREAT quality score for each keyword I bid. Some products never get clicks because I never bid any more than $0.05-0.20 per keyword, but since they're GREAT quality keywords, it's working for me. Sometimes a product only receives 5 clicks in three months but all of the sudden, it makes $47 commissions. Kind of neat when that happens.

So all I do is just the same thing all across CB products. I don't do a lot of Non-IM niche -- they get lots of clicks but those keywords lack focus (when I do it) and I lose money.

I agree with Matthew totally!

first ask yourself if you have access to the hungry crowd.

Even if you can earn a commission of $1000 for Internet marketing product, you aren't going to sell to a hungry crowd looking for "how to increase my fitness in the least time"

Cheers,
John

This is how I do it ... usually .. however do experiment with other things too .. which i guess everyone should ... you don't need to go for the occasional play safe theory ;

some of my unconventional tests have really given unexpected results .. $$$$$

Here is my normal method of choosing a products ;

have a higher demand
. have a lower competition
. are not too expensive
. are not too cheap
. have a reasonable commission percentage
. have a high conversion rate

It really depends on the market that you're into as with different marketing approach a low gravity product can earn you more than an extremely high gravity one. On the other hand, a new product with super high gravity gives better conversion rate and eventually ROI on yet another different marketing method used. The same goes with all other as well.

However, my general rule of choosing a good product are.. no intention to publicly promote my site but I'm lazy to write again. (In my sig).

After you have found a hungry market, you can select a Clickbank product based on a simple formula

$ / Sale -> At least $20 (to cover your advertising costs)
Gravity -> Between 20-100 (> 100 means high competition)
% Referred -> 70 or high (means the product is popular among affiliates)

Of course the product must have a good Sales page as well.

Then head to Make Money with ClickBank, Helping Affiliates to Make Money with ClickBank and check whether the product is gaining in popularity and gravity in the last few months.

Select a product that shows an improvement in gravity over a long period of time. Do not select a product that shows a decline in gravity over a long period.

Hope that helps,
Anup

A hungry crowd is the most important factor that you need to consider first before choosing any product to promote. With a hungry market, at least you know that the people in that particular market is buying...

Personally, after i have chosen a hungry market, I will go to Clickbank Marketplace and search for products in the industry that i have chosen. I will usually sort by Gravity or Popularity.

Then, I will choose the top 5 products with each sorting and explore their sales page. Make sure that they do not have alternative payment method on their sales page other than through clickbank. THis is to prevent yourself from losing your hard earned affiliate earnings.

I will like to choose products that can offer me at least a $25 commission for each set, excluding any upsell.

After I have chosen 5 products to market, i will go on to create mini-site with reviews and content... and start marketing it. =)

Honestly, if you are selling to a market that you have a passion in then I would generally stick to selling things that you yourself would buy!! Read the saleletter and if it gets you (a marketer that knows all the techniques being used to sell the product) excited then you know that a regular consumer will too..

And I dont know if your new or or just starting but a great thing to do is promote products that you have already bought that you got alot of value from and this will make promoting it much easier since you will be able to talk about what you got out of it in an article, audio or video.

If you have already started promoting all the products you own then I would still focus on selling what you are passionate about since creating and building a strong list and group of followers will be much easier since you already have a lot to talk about to suck them in to your promotions..

Hope this helped

Kevin

I prefer high gravity products with good commission,always avoid products that have opt in box in their sales page.
