Hi I want to deliver a valuable freebie from a sales page ( I have never tried it before) and I was wondering whether it would be best offered from a pop up, slide in or peel back. I obviously do not want to plonk a sign up form right in the middle id my sales page. Also, can anyone point me in the right direction for a [good] deal on any of these? Looking forward to your answers . . . Kevin |

Hi Kevin, The only way to find out for sure which of these is going to be the most beneficial is to run a basic split test until you find the winner. You can do this for free using Google's website optimizer, and it's actually free too. As far as a good deal on some kind of popup generator etc, I'm one of the other warriors can chime in with a good deal... Hope that's useful David |

Hi - I hadn't heard about that tool before. Doing a quick search on Yahoo , I found it here: https://www.google.com/analytics/siteopt/splash?hl=enI'm going to have to check this out. Thanks much for the thread. Regards, Bal |

Put the optin box in your body copy and also add the popup... It's proven to increase optins... Chris |

Personally, unless I really, really need to use a particular site, I immediately close out Web pages that have a pop-up or slide-in window. Peel back would probably convert less, but for a user like me, your pop-up or slide-in would annoy us sufficiently that you'd never get anything from us.

Here's a really cool, unobtrusive script, InstantSlideUp: Instant SlideUp And a nice looking implementation on a site many are surely familiar with (or should be): http://www.michelfortin.com |
