Predictions for 2010 in IM
Dr. Mike and Keith Baxter used to do an annual teleseminar going over the best IM products of the year which I used to enjoy.
What I thought could be interesting though would be to look forward to the year ahead and make predictions on what is going to happen not just in the IM niche, but generally marketing online.
Two things I think are going to explode are:
1. 1 click upsells. Do you remember times before OTOs? Remarkably a few years ago almost nobody was doing it. Nowadays, if you don't do it then you are simply losing money which you could be making. In fact, it has come to the point where the front-end offer is actually a loss leader.
I genuinely believe that in the next year, 1 click upsells are going to change the way that we do business. Unfortunately, there are several technical aspects to overcome especially when using Paypal, but where there's a will, there's a way...
2. Undoubtably, video is being used much more online, probably due to increased home download speeds. Salesletter videos are also being used much more. Recently I have noticed that it is rare on a salesletter of a big launch where video is NOT used at some point on the page.
My prediction is that in the next year, video salesletters will be used much more than normal written salesletter and normal salesletters will be almost extinct. Everyone I speak to who uses video salesletters for the first time finds that they convert MUCH higher than normal salesletters.
