List Builders - What Do You Look For?

Hey Warriors,

Ok, this is aimed at the list building warriors out there, regardless of niche.

What do you look for in a a product when promoting to your list, either as an affiliate or a JV???

After launching a few products myself on Clickbank, I am interested to know about this. What makes you want to promote a product as an affiliate to your list?

Money? Commision?
A Certain Salespage/Letter?
Affiliate Tools?
Something Else?

I want you to assume the product in question is quality and you think your list will love it, as I think the quality and value of the product in this equation goes without saying!

I would love to hear some thoughts!

    To answer my own question,

I always look for a salespage without free optins splashed everywhere and I suppose I read the page to see if it would sell me! Commision is also important to me also I suppose!

    So, what are your bulletpoints?

Conversions, Commissions, Quality of the product.

It has to convert. Commissions don't always have to be high; sometimes you're working with someone who's promoted for you in the past so you may give them a little leeway on the commissions. Also the quality must always be there whether they've promoted for you in the past or not.

The top for me is the quality of the product... I don't want to recommend a piece of crap.

Then, if it's a good product, it has to be able to convert.

If and ONLY if promoting that product leads to greater trust in me by my subscribers.

In niche markets outside B2B, trust can easily make you a fortune.

In the IM market though, there might be other factors that affect success... In niche markets, people take whatever you have especially if they are hurting for a solution.

A sales page that captures the email addresses of the viewers as the main priority.

Building rapport is the key to re-curring sales.

Specifically to Clickbank, links to affiliate program pages are a deal killer. I don't want to send people to a sales page, and one of the first links they see is "Make money with this product". It practically begs them to cheat.

If everything else lines up, I'll take a look at the source code for the page. If the opt-in form also captures my affiliate ID, it's still a go. No ID capture, no promotion.

    Simple, really.

I look for a product that is

    a) Goin to reward my efforts (as John describes above). No leaks on the salespage etc...

    and

    b) Caters to the needs/wants of my subscribers.

If I feel that a product would help or interest them in a targeted way, then I will make the moves.

    Peace

Quality and if I think it will help my list are the most important to me...

I don't send them to a squeeze page or a sales page that makes it obvious that they want them to join their list for free... unless it' part of an ad swap or a friend that asked me to promote their product
