and

we'd have most things covered.

Did you know that the amount of 'Thanks' appears as a stat in your profile - I'm now up to 14!

So what are they worth? Can I sell them?

It certainly feel good to be thank. Questions are replied and sometimes we just wonder if the answers are read. A "thank you" shall helps alot in this case. =)

I just ran a simple little test on the "thanks" button. I wanted to see if it could be abused - meaning that if you used it would your post count increase. Thanks goodness it DOESN'T, otherwise we would have people thanking JUST to get their post count up!

So now are we going to see people posting threads just so they can get their "Thanks Count" up?

Or, what about WSOs? Will people have to say "Thanks" to get their download?

I hope this works out well, and doesn't become a spam tool.

The test I ran showed that using the Thanks button does NOT increase post count!

I added this to the forum to hopefully create a little balance. We have two ways to report and basically bitch at someone and no way to say a simple thanks.

Couple more points..

People who don't like to post find it much easier to just click the thanks button.

People who don't have anything to say but thanks can just use the button instead of making a post with 'Thanks!' in it and making the thread not very readable.

I think it will work out.

and the best thing of all is that it can be used instead of the long gone REP button and it can't really be abused.

I just found that this mod adds a link to the search box that lists all thanked posts.

If the posts people thank are really valuable that could come in sort of handy.
