I have just started using twitter a little bit for my website marketing, and am trying to get followers but am not interested in using these programs to add people if i do actually not have to. Has anyone actually manually added a lot of people to twitter? Is software the only option for actually getting a nice ammount of followers? Please let me know from your experiences! ![]() Follow me @Promo4Awareness |

I got to 3K manually... but only crossed the 10K line with hummingbird. Have around 14K now, and left that account dormant for almost 6 months as I was solving some stuff with my offline business. Not sure if it is that good actually... those who I call "friends" are mostly within the first 2K. Laura |

I add about 50 people manually every day day...any more and I'm afraid Twitter might ban my account if I follow people too fast (got this tip from an internet marketing course 6 months ago...not sure if it's still true today). Rick |

| How do you find these people to follow? That is what I am having problems with! Do you just randomly add people out of nowhere?

You can manually add people you do not really need the software. It will take you about 5 -10 daily to manage everything instead of having automated software do it for you.

I'll then click on the people to read their profiles, their recent tweets, to see if they are whom I'm targeting. If so I'll follow them. Some will follow back. It helps that you have a real photo...that you're a real person and your tweets are something they're interested in (computer repair). Once in awhile I'll go through and unfollow people who don't follow me back. That's how I do it and have had success with it. Others may vary. Rick | |

I used this method a long time before I went with humming bird automated software. 1. Every 24 hours either visit twellow.com and find people in my target audience and manually follow my max. You can also do a search on twitter but twellow.com seems to target much better. 2. Max follow people for 2 days in a row like this give it 24-48 hours and visit a website called Your Twitter Karma 3. Login your account though this site and then filter your list so it shows people your following but do not follow you back. At the bottom of the pack click on select all and then bulk unfollow. Repeat steps 1 and 2 again. Simple as that |

If you are using other social networking sites like Squidoo or Hubpages, you can pick up followers there. After adding your twitter info to your profile, follow some people in your target market, and many of them will follow you back.

Hi guys you need to do it manually as twitter is bringing out new rules and getting rather strict about it because twitter is just full to the top with spammers now. For finding people to follow the best place is twellow.com which is a twitter yellow pages and you can find people by interest. Or alternatively go on twitter and search people by keywords and follow those people with interesting tweets. Twitter is very profitable so go for it and get those followers moving for your wallet kind regards sam X |

I don't use any automated tools on Twitter, and I've gotten a good following. So, it's definitely possible without any third-party sites or software.

I started doing it manually then created my own software to add followers after extracting followers from top accounts. After reaching the 200K I only add 200-300 per week so as not to get account deleted. I do use a bulk delete website called buzzom.com but I have not done much with my accounts. I did not feel like adding the bulk delete feature to my software... I also use my software to post tweets from a text file I have with my tweets. I just build a text file with my tweets, load it into my software and tell sit how often I want it to tweet. Thats how I used to do it. I was going to sell my software for $7-10 but never got around to it. |

I was doing the manual process up until a few months ago. I would find and follow a handful of major guys in my niche markets and then follow who they were following and sometimes, follow their followers, but who has time for that! Nowadays, I use software that does this automatically (but) the quality is still NOT as good as the manual process, so every 9 days, I zip over to Huitter and click the Mutuality option to purge my tardy non-followers. Twit Automator does a dandy job of getting me a bunch of new Followers, but like you said, if they are hot for RED apples and you're talking Oranges, then its a waste, so I only target leaders w/ 10k followers in my niche and I use Tweep Search to find those big guns for that. A nice thing about Twit Automator is that I can "spin" a Tweet using some simple code [ a | b | c | d ] where the recurring tweet presents the same aff link but with a slightly different tweet message so Twitter won't slap me for trying to post duplicate content. I'm still watching what TwAitter does now that they claim they can reinstate Recurring tweets again (but) this notice has been the same for the past 7-8 days so I had to find a interim solution until then. All in all, if you have the time, manually adding guys who post stuff that's in sync with your niche will give you a better quality circle than any SW out there - at least that's what I've found thus far. |

I use Twellow to follow people. Its basically manually. I also like Twellow for the simple fact you can target searches very well to people that have the same interest as you. Once you do the search you find the person or persons that is targeted to your interests or niche. Then follow them. Then you can go to their profile and follow their followers Very simple stuff Craig |
