How do I get This payment?

This guy wants to buy something from my website, Our only check out method is Paypal, he doesn't want to use Paypal but Paypal won't let him pay at all because the credit card that he is using is associated with a Paypal account.

I told him to just remove the CC info from the paypal account, now he is telling me that he forgot his password; he can't log in to his paypal account, is he trying to set me up?

Or what else can i do?

If he wants it bad enough he will send a money order or start a new account. If he is setting you up he won't.

I don't know what he is trying to do even though he seems to be pretty interested since he called me himself letting me know that he wants to order something but Paypal won't let him.

He can get his password information from PayPal, like most password-protected sites they have a "forgot your password?" feature.

He could also use another credit card or bank card or, as Matt said, send you a money order.

You CAN still checkout even if you don't login to PayPal and even if the credit card you are trying to use is associated with a paypal account.

I've done it myself...he just has to keep an eye out for the little links PayPal has to bypass those "errors" it pops up with.

    Thanks,
    Chris

How do you do that, I tried it for him too, Paypal says the same thing.

If he chooses to pay without logging in...after he puts in his payment info PayPal will see that he already has an account or that the card # is already associated with an account.

It will bring up a screen like this:

Just click to continue without logging in and pay as normal.

That's all there is to it taken I'm understanding your situation correctly.

        Thanks,
        Chris

Unless the account that the card was associated with has been closed. A friend of mine had her account shut down a couple of years ago for selling products PayPal wasn't happy with (nothing illegal, but they claimed it was too closely related to MLM) and she tried to send me some cash with her credit card and it wouldn't let her because it was the card she was using had been associated with the account that got shut down. They didn't even present her with the option to continue without logging in, it just kept asking her to choose a different card.

            This is a no-brainer.

I have sold tons of affiliate stuff and tons of goods online including auctions and this sounds a tad too fishy.

They can do a money order and likely get a free one at a cash advance place ... so it really is not a problem unless you make it yours.

You can offer that as a solution but do you really want to spend a lot of time with this when it is not really your problem?

My BS meter was pegged after the first post.

He was buying two products from me, he just called me to tell me that the credit was his wife's credit card and that his wife just told him that she doesn't not want one of the product that he was going to buy for her.
The other product he said was going to be for his son, he says that he will proceed with this one tomorrow when his mind thinks better.

It's either he was trying to bluff or that wives need to do a better job watching over their husbands when they are trying to buy them gift with their own credit card in this busy holiday season.lol.

I am sorry, but I think you are getting a line of BS, big time. I am not sure what he wants you to do for him, but you can't fix a problem with his credit card of his PayPal account, so why is he talking to you? My BS meter started ringing as soon as I read your post.
