This has been a year of many extremes and Internet Marketing has not been without its fair share of problems and success stories.

If your 2009 was not all you wanted it to be then it is time to make a change so your 2010 will be different. You know the old saying " If you keep doing the same things and expecting different results........"

Me I had quite a good year living in Brisbane Australia seeing two grandchildren born, but felt that I was not achieving my full potential so next year I head off to Thailand and Cambodia for another round of training orphans and underprivileged young people.

So what are the things you remember about 2009 and what is going to change in 2010.

This year has been the best year for me to date.

The business has really taken off, with that comes more freedom (kind of) and more choices.

My kid is doing well in school (at last) and for 2010.. well, more insentives for him to carry on working hard and the business is going to expand in early 2010.

    It's looking good for us

    Hello,
I held a assistant managers job for a very extreme corporate company,
they had a four step write up system where if you made it to fourth step you were
    out the door.
Every time I had a write up for myself I had to stop myself from laughing my
    head off.

I will never work for a company like that again.

Been a good year, I remember I made myself a new year resolution on that day that I would push forward with my IM career and boy am I glad I did. Ive learned so much this year its just crazy when you think back on it. SEO, bookmarking, articles, started my own videos, created a few of my own products, pushed click bank. Just been a real big turning point this year

    My 2009 was pretty phenomenal.

I discovered IM in March, started to hit it hard in May, just put out my first unique product, and am planning to move my family to the country in the spring to buy a farm.

IM has made this all possible, and my mind is still reeling!

2009 has been my worst year in 12yrs.
Got slapped with a debt for not jumping through the right hoops. It's due in 2 days. I have no money to pay it.
Mum also become unemployed this year after getting harassed on the job by a new boss. She also got into debt becuase workers comp said no but she recieved emergency payments which had to be repaid even though she has no income.
My uncle's mother died in october quite suddenly.

Next year i'm determined to change things.
I want to get the debts paid off.
I want a consistent income from my online activities.

Yes for many this year has been a really tough year and a learning curve.

My mom had cancer so going for a check up next week.

Most people I would surmise are in debt.

Next year will no doubt be a better year if only one can be prepared enough to face this volatile industry with a positive attitude and a warrior spirit.

    Keep your spirit high!!

2009 was my learning year. didn't really decided what to do until April and it changed a couple of times although the original plan stayed in effect. Big learning curve. got 'taken alot'. 2010 will hopefully take off, reduce debts, live a simpler life. start a couple of roller coasters. couple of things in the works I can put on autopilot to supplement the main things I want to do. Start 2010 with an attempt to lower pain (and med) levels. Have some networking things going with a few 'players' or 'players to be'. not MLM in case you were wondering. Lol. (though some might appear that way). 2009 was a toughie. by the end 0f 2010 should be good to go. (either a millionaire or living in a rented house with no hot water and a broken window, ;0))
    Lol.
Many thinks for the people here. perhaps that is what I am most grateful for. Even those who don't think their comments were heard, they were not just heard but, also HEARD.
Implement, Implement, Implement. Easy to do for others, harder to do for one's own self sometimes.
Coming to grips with conflicting advice from several obviously successful marketers isn't always easy until I learned to put my own spin on things. Take what you learn and then use your brain (and your heart) to take it to the next level. (whatever that level is for you).
2010 portends to be a scary year, but my experience with scary is things seem to work out much better than I would have even planned at the start. Don't suppose 2010 will be any different.
If you had asked me where I'd be today last year at this time, I'd have said living under an overpass. Instead i still have 2 houses two cars and 3 dogs and money in the bank. All a miracle in itself, one made possible at least in part by everyone in here. (Though some were more helpful and some more inspirational than others.)
    Thanks and Merry Christmas.

2009.... The best and worst year of my life.

Early this year my fiance and partner of 7 years left me for my best friend, I lost my house, I lost my job all in the span of 2 months.

That being said 2009 was also the year I decided that I will never again work for anyone else. I found this forum and after about 3 weeks of solid 10 hour days researching different business models I've picked my path and I'm happy to report I've made my first money online. It's nothing to live off of but it was enough to get me completely hooked.

If there's anything that you can take away from my post is that for every door that's closed a window is opened. As hard as it is sometimes take a good hard look at what you have and be great full for having it.

Pretty crappy. 2008 ended on a high note, two girlfriends, lots of time with my family, lots of extra money, new clothes new car, was getting in decent shape and a business that was starting to take off and good things going at work.

2009 everything came undone. My business partner folded and just gave up, our new venture stalled. 8 months of BS from her. My job went in a tailspin, I spent most of the year fighting like hell to keep my job. Lost both of my girlfriends (they had personal issues that put our relationships on the rocks), gained 30lbs so all those new clothes don't fit. At least I still have the car.

The good news is that all of these things led me to IM, and to spend more time concentrating on what's really important...my health and my family.

I'm looking forward to rededicating my life to change and improvement in 2010.

This year has been the best year for me so far regarding Internet Marketing, I have earned the most money, I have more assets behind me and I have more knowledge I have a clear goal and I know how to get there, no secret, just hard work.

As for real life, my 2 and a half year relationship broke down, however I found the most amazing, beautiful and perfect girl which I am now going out with and I could not be happier.

I am currently in China on holiday too, so things could not be better although I miss my girlfriend incredibly...

Every year on this little blue planet of ours is another great year. Always another adventure. This year it was our mega-trek through the Berner-Oberland. Click here to see that and our great time in the UK and my hometown of Klosters. OK, Rieko may not agree that the first day of the trek was great - something muttered about "Are you trying to kill me?"

As for business, launched Mini Money Factories and Rocket Product Creation. Had another great Workshop in WF. And, got to meet a bunch of Warriors in Raleigh (first visit to US in 15 years).

Yup. Another great year of adventures. Wonder what 2010 has in store.

2009 was my first full year of no job, just IM. I made a general plan last December and all started out well.

Then things changed 4 months in for the worse and I had to make changes. From there, I have had decent months and bad months. I still can't find consistency in my IM business, but working on it.

I think I just need a little more direction and discipline and focus. Maybe a mentor to hold me accountable would help?

Next week I will sit down and make a new plan for 2010 and see if I can make it a much better year.

This has been a pretty good year for me. I didn't have a computer until June. I checked my email at my sister's house and noticed that I had made quite a few Clickbank sales over the past few months even though I hadn't spent any time online since October.

This was enough to get me back into IM, so I scaped up enough money to buy a laptop and I got to work immediately.

I have learned a TON, especially after discovering the Warrior Forum in August.

In October I quit my job and moved back to Canada (from the US) and decided I didn't feel like getting another job. Since I wasn't making enough from affiliate marketing, I decided to offer services.

I'm not making tons of money right now, but it's enough to get by, and I'm excited to be able to say that I am self-employed.

I have a pretty solid business plan for 2010 and I'm confidant that by the end of next year I will be doing very well indeed.

Business wise, I would rather forget it. It was my fourth year full-time and my income would be the worse in over 10 year. So bad that I had to use my savings to supplment our living expenses all year round. However, I am thankful that my personal wealth is now at an all time high because of a mother of all bubbles brewing up in our property market. However, I am under no illusions that it is still a tough environment and I would certainly be quite worried if this continues for a couple of years.

My trouble started in Aug 2008 when Google started de-indexing hundreds of my sites. It came about me in wave, the last big wave being in March this year. My Adsense account got banned shortly after and in June, I sufferred another shock that really made me fed up. Looking back, it was a pure case of bad luck. Although I have finally got things under control, I am not sure whether it is possible to make a full recovery.

Personally, it was also a tough year as my autistic daughter started having horrific temper tantrums. In fact, it got so bad that the headmaster at her specialy warned us of the possibility of suspension or expulsion. They will not allow her to travel to school on the school bus and at the moment, I am having to take her there at 9.50am. I am thankful that I am working fulltime on the Internet or else it would not have been possible for me to drive her there at this odd time in the morning.

As far as 2010 goes, I am much more confident about my business now. At least I am now an expert on how Google decides to de-index a site. I am making some investments now so that I will have a stronger start next year.

2009 so far has been one filled with many highs and lows.

My JV partner of over two years, decided to leave IM for good, leaving me with a few things to deal with, and some still not resolved.

Midsummer was time for evaluations. Which lead to a whole new adventure in IM, left the niches I had worked on for more than 5 years and ventured out into unknown waters.

So far not bad, but I feel very confident about the new year being more financially successful.

Overall I'd have to say 2009 was pretty dang good for me.

Like a few others in this thread, it was my first full year of not having an offline job. I started off a bit nervous but am consistently making double what I did on the job. Have three websites launching before Christmas and am almost finished with my first actual product.

I've been lucky enough to start really getting to know and becoming friends with a number of people in the IM arena, some here in the WF and some from the Mastermind chat groups that I attend.

Non-business related, I just had my first ever real vacation. I got to take my first commercial flights and spend two weeks with my sister over Thanksgiving. This was our first holiday together in over ten years and the first time I've seen one of her homes since we've been adults.

I watched my first grandson be born in April. That was an incredibly awesome experience. 2010 will see the birth of his brother in May. After that, I'm pretty sure the older one will spend a lot more time with Nana...lol.

I went from empty nest to having my partner's two nieces (14, 13) come live with us permanently. I love them dearly but I must say that I still look forward to the whole empty nest again someday.

Yeah, it was a pretty eventful year all in all but I wouldn't trade it and I'm looking forward to 2010.

2009 started off really bad with my elderly mother having a bad fall, developing kidney problems and being hospitalised for several weeks. She is much better now.

I stopped smoking in May and feel great for it. Apart from the money saved I used my experience to make money on the internet from it.

My day job has been stressful this year, but my internet business is progressing well enough for me to consider going part time instead of full time soon. Don't want to quit altogether because I enjoy the job apart from the stress.

2010 - I have an awful lot of ideas that I want to develop so bring it on!!

It has been great, professionally and personally (I am going to be a proud Dad in may 2010).

December has been the best month ever, with strong sales of my authority ebook, and more importantly having had two "bang!" moments that will become new products in January.

2009 has been the best year so far in IM. Went full time in March, starved untill July when a major key phrase hit page 1 and doubled what I was making in my corporate job - on a monthly basis! Looking forward to 2010!

I started off seriously in IM on 1st October this year after getting back from a 3 week honeymoon in Florida as we found out we were pregnant and i figured i would have to step up my game. I still work fulltime 9-5 but on the side, not only did i make my first thousand but made nearly three thousand dollars in commissions in my first month by the beginning of November! Bring on 2010! I have learnt so much and can't wait to earn much more!

Main Goal for 2010 - To make $5000 per month constantly and quite the 9-5!

Well, there have been much worse years in my life but i am still not fully satisfied Doubled my income in this year but i need to get focused again on so many ideas that are floating in my head, write a big plan and go for it. So the goal for 2010 would be to quadruple the current income

Not too good to start off with.
Things have improved, have my laptop and I am in Paris {it's freezing after the Australian summer]
I have not made any money this year but I also have not increased my debts, so this is a good thing. A strange year because it was a year of waiting for changes and trying my hand at IM, this has not done too well as yet so there is a lot of room for improvement.
2010 will be a good year, for me at least. I will dedicate more time developing some IM ideas and find better coffee.

    On the whole very good.

The only pain we sometimes feel is growing pains with our businesses. Expanding well, but the rate of expansion did slow down compared to before the recession.

People still want stuff, if it is stuff they are interested in.

There is still big money to be made, even these days.

You are right Sam, some big fortunes have been made in times of recession. People still eat, live and play and are willing to spend. The secret is finding what is wanted and or needed and provide it

2009 has made me realise that the surest path to success on the internet is through IM, 2010 is going to be the year where I use IM to achieve personal goals. That's earning enough for traveling and being able to invest in long term opportunities.

This year, 2009, was a massive roller coaster ride. I made a couple of bigtime mistakes, but took away some very important lessons from them which is going to help make 2010 an even better year. I was in and out of the hospital, dealing with health issues (I'm too young for that!), and that's humbled me bigtime. Despite the roller coaster ride, 2009 was a good year and 2010 is going to be even better,

At this point, I'd say it was rather so-so.

On the plus side, I submitted a few articles to ezinearticles.com from January to March/April, had all of them accepted without a problem. Then for some reason, my efforts petered out.

I hoped to have several minisites up and at least two or more streams of income from them, but became flummoxed in efforts to develop squeeze pages.

Biggest obstacle was and is actually getting myself focused and become more productive ...... implementing ideas rather than just daydreaming about them.

I think that even getting a single minisite up and running would motivate me to work harder and see better results.
