I am very interested in getting into all of this but know absolutely nothing! I have read through the posts and have no clue what people are talking about (which tells you how new I am). I am willing to learn, work very hard, very patient person and I know this is not a get rich quick thing. Where does someone like me even start? I've had quite a few people tell me to sign up with Wealthy Affiliate just long enough to learn the basics. What do you think is the best thing I can do to get started?

Thanks!!

Welcome to the WF Rita, you can find all the information you need to get started for free just by spending sometime reading the forum.

A great place to start would be WarriorForum - Internet Marketing Forums - Threads Tagged with allinone

    Best wishes!

I suggest that you read some basic ebooks on IM to get started, or head to article directory sites to read articles on the subject.

      Rita,
You can read some really good articles on ezinearticles and articlebase websites, just remember to take what each author states with a grain of salt as they may be trying to sell or presell you on something. Hopefully this helps, one thing you need to figure out is what method you will use, whether it be Affiliate Marketing, CPA, or maybe you have your own product to sell. I don't want to give you too much at once, just enough to steer you in the right direction.

This forum is a great place to start, but $37 for the war room will get you all the ebooks, programs and info. you will ever need to start out with. 37$ for a 20 year membership, I have lost more than that in a couple hours of bad PPC keywords.

Thanks Rita. Posts like this always remind me of the people I write for. This one especially is a good reminder to publish that primer I started planning in October. Your post is one of the virtual kick-in-the-backsides that I needed to put that on my New Year's schedule.

My suggestion to newbie, learn and start a website using dreamweaver or wordpress, put some content to it and learn different SEO techniques, implement them on your site, in 2-3 months you can learn a lot, if you are completely dedicated. This how I started and I succeeded in short span of time...

    Hi Rita,

I'm new to this forum, but not to marketing online. I empathize with your confusion and overwhelm...it is tough to know where and how to get started. The advice you got on joining the war room is sound, I'm sure, although I can't speak personally about it as yet (will upgrade soon, after holidays).

There is one person who has a straightforward step by step method for affiliate marketing, which is a good way to start online, or doing Travis Sago's bum article marketing method is one way that many of us got started.

Anyway, one person (there are many others who also offer sound teaching) who has quite a bit of information on affiliate marketing is Mark Ling from New Zealand. Affiliate marketing is his specialty, and he worked online as an affiliate for four years before creating any of his own products to sell.

He's been online for 10 years or so and he offers different levels of training - but alot of his stuff is free. Mark's site is called Affilorama and if you get time, check it out as you can learn alot about affiliate marketing without having to pay. You can choose to purchase his blueprint or a premium membership once you decide it is the right course of action for you, but you wouldn't have to right away, just to get more familiar with things. I can vouch for him because I own his materials and have implemented his strategies.

One word of caution - don't try to learn everything at once. Follow a proven blueprint, if you wish to create a cash flow sooner than later, and just really try to limit the amount of information on this that you take in. It truly can drive you crazy, and that's the last thing you need, getting started!

The one advantage over learning a system that Mark Ling teaches is you are building an asset - you are building real estate online. Something you can sell for a profit later on down the road, just like you'd sell a house. Doing bum marketing, you're not really building an asset in the same sense of the word, but you can definitely create a cash flow doing it.

Good luck to you and don't hesitate to ask questions here - looks like alot of people are quite willing to help in this forum.

        Hey There Rita.
        Welcome to the Warrior Forum.

My advice is kind of opposite to others. Don't jump into anything right away.

Rather take your time read some posts figure out what kind of Niche or Makret type you wish to enter. Then find any and all resources pertaining to it. Do not buy offer after offer it is just going to do 2 things one is overwhelm you with information overload. the other is it will distract you beyond measure.

Rather figure out what needs to be done by studying anything to do with it. find someone who is in that niche and maybe could help you out. if you need to know something post in here and we will respond you will find this forum is one of caring people who help when asked and ask for help when needed. take your time you will do alright. Once you figure out what to do and absorb things then maybe look at following a system or program but not right away. utilize this forum it is one of the best resources anyone could have especially if your new.

For the warriors who posted their products let's give it a break ok let's just try and help her how do you know your product is going to fit her .

If you know nothing at all, definatly look at SEO Blog | SEOmoz Blog Featuring Search Engine Marketing News & Tips . The best place I have ever found about SEO. I definatly think if you go around the WF, and read most of the good post's, you can learn a great deal, without ever spending a dime. The War Room is amazing, I just don't have money for it right now(tight spending). I would definatly register a domain name(yourname.com), get a webhost(Hostgator, or Bluehost), and install a wordpress blog.

There are tutorials everywhere so I won't bore you with that.

One thing I would do is add micronichefinder on twitter, as they have some good updates.

Post some content, get a twitter, get a flickr, get a facebook, and get going. Don't sell to your friends, as this is the new age. Sell to everyone :]

    Hi Rita ,

Welcome to the warrior forum and starting off in your online business endeavors.

First I would say as everyone else stated read up on the forum and any other place on the net you can to absorb some knowledge on what it is all about and what it really takes to be successful online.

Second after understanding what exactly it takes and learning what you need to know to make a informed decision if this is for you or not.

If you decide you want to follow this path, decide what exactly you want to focus on as your business model. Is it affiliate marketing, Services, Creating your own products, etc.

From there make sure you stay focused which can be the hard part, and don't worry everyone gets overwhelmed that I know has done this at one point or another. Most important you have to take action on what you learn and not jump from one method to another,or learning from one source then trying it out for a day not seeing results then giving up, and moving on to the next one.
Results take time this is just like any other business you start, it takes time to get established and become a success, and it does take lots of work, unless you outsource everything.

Anyway sorry to ramble on I will link some of the Training and resources available for you to learn from that I know of that are proven to work if you work the plan given.

    1. 30 Day Challenge This is totally Free
    Thirty Day Challenge

    2. Internet Marketers Bootcamp 37.00 One Time Fee I think
    http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...e-you-can.html

    3. Bum Marketing Method Free
Bum Marketing Method - Free Traffic Tips

These are just a few that are out there but ones that I have personally used and worked the plan they gave me.

None of these are affiliate links either I am gaining no profits from these links other than passing on some materials that have helped me in the past.

    Good luck to you.

      Hi Rita,
I'm pretty new to to this whole world myself.
I started learning and implementing some methods a few months ago, and I've already earned a small amount of money selling products through clickbank. I thought it was nothing, but many warriors encouraged me and said that it was pretty good start for a newbie.
My start was with Google Sniper sites, this is a good beggining if you don't know how to set up a website, but it definitely isn't enough, so I'm going on with my learning.
The problem is that there is so many info out there, and so many different approaches to internet marketing that I am getting pretty confused and disfocused.
My advice to you is not to repeat my mistake and get lost like I did.
When you choose some blueprint to follow it, wether this is Sniper, affilorama, or whatever, stick to it and don't look for any other methods.
For a newbie there is definitely to much to learn at once.
      Good Luck!

        Hi Rita.

I've only been at this for about a year myself but I have immersed myself in it and learned a great deal. If there is one piece of advice I can give from experience it would be to focus on one thing and take consistent action. I'm a new member of these forums, but I have visited from time to time and, as others have said, there is a ton of great information here. Just try not to get overwhelmed.

If I were starting all over again, I would pick one niche and do some basic research to find some buying keywords with low competition. Then I would create a simple free blog on Wordpress.com. I would also write some articles on the niche using the keywords I am targeting, with links back to the Wordpress blog, and submit to EzineArticles.com, ArticleCity.com, GoArticles.com and Articlesbase.com. In addition, I would create lens on Squidoo.com and link it back to the Wordpress blog. The key is to consistently add content to each site and you will begin to see traffic over time. When you get a little more knowledgeable, you can start setting up your own hosted domains and driving all your traffic to them.

Of course, you need a product to sell. For that, I would go to Clickbank.com (you can sign up for free) and search the marketplace for an appropriate product or products to promote in your niche. As a basic rule of thumb, look for products with a Gravity > 30. (Gravity is basically a measure of how many different affiliates are selling that particular product -- generally speaking, the higher the gravity, the better the product sells).

You can easily find free information on how to go about each of the steps mentioned here. Just start simple, perfect your own process and ramp up from there.

A couple more words of caution: Stay far away from anyone or any product that claims that you can go from zero to thousands of dollars overnight -- it may happen on occasion for some, but it's usually not sustainable and those products are mainly meant to separate you from your money. Second, don't even attempt to go near anything related to Pay-per-Click (PPC) advertising while you are starting out. PPC is a great way to drive traffic to your websites or offers, but it is very easy to lose a lot of money if you don't know what you are doing.

Hope this helps and good luck in your new venture!

          Hi

What interests do you have or are passionate about - hobby, some useful piece of information. Start from there. Marketing offline or online isn't about selling just about anything; it's about providing a service or product that can solve a problem.

What problem do you think you an solve? Can you write about it.

Do you have a tip you can pass on?

          Hope that helps.

Some good advice in this thread ...

My advice, Read the money making methods given in this forum, choose a method that you think can work for you and then start taking action.

Focus on the method till it starts making money for you, you may experience initial setbacks but you have to be persistent to be successful in this field.

    Good luck

My first advice would be to stop and don't try to get into all of this..If you try
to do everything..You won't get anywhere..

This is an Internet Marketing Forum..

What you try to learn here is how to effectively market products online.

The goal here is to sell. That's the heart of all of this..

    The process usually involves:

    1. Product selection
    2. Promotion
    3. Actual sales or conversion
    4. Process repetition

Those process can be broken down into different methods or
    sub-categories.

    1. Product - Self-made, affiliate
    2. Promotion - Article Marketing, Forum Marketing, PPC, Social Marketing,
list building, online ads, banners, etc.

Some successful Internet marketers I personally know started by
choosing or creating products to promote, building webpages (with
lead capture forms) promoting those products and driving people
    to those webpages.

Hope you get up to speed soon.

    All the best,

    Omar

    Wow, so many ideas
I would like to add that internet marketing is very broad, with many ways of making money (affiliate marketing, CPA, selling products, etc.) Each of these has different techniques in them as well, so it can get confusing. I recommend you pick one way and stick to it instead of trying out everything at the beginning. For me affiliate marketing was the easiest to work with, and if you choose to go into it too, you should check out 6 Day Weekend by Sean Morrissy. It has over 90 videos for free and goes through affiliate marketing from beginning to end in an organized manner. Perfect for newbies
