How do I make sales with no money to advertise?

I have the products, the sales page, and the download page all in place. I used ListJoe like I usually do when I am promoting other peoples products but this time I got no clicks.
That was because I did not test the sales page, it didn't work. Now I have to wait seven days before I can use ListJoe again.

I did make a few sales on the DP forum but they want their money back because it takes to long to download 166mbs, although it only took me 1min and 16 seconds.

These are 23 blogging products with MMR. I would like to know where I can advertise for free and what should I do about the download problem?

    Send it on a CD in the mail. This will reduce refunders too because
    people will be too lazy to mail it back.

    Article marketing maybe? Seems like you can string sentences together, so why not go down that road?

    166mb isnt very big in today's terms. But there still many people who have dial up connections which is nearly impossible for them to download something of that size. So i would also recommend sending it on CD. You can get CD's very cheap. Send through USPS for cheap as well.

    Article Marketing sounds good, I will start on that as soon as I pick up my kids from school.
    I have gotten some good stuff from DP, but is is no WF by a long, long shot.
    I will look into the cd option as well.

      Getting traffic to your sales page for free will take a bit of work, but it can be done. If you are not already, organization helps.

      The best thing for you is article marketing. Dominate your sales page with backlinks by writing 50 quality articles and posting it to EZA. Next, you'll want to add your sales page to social bookmarking sites like Digg. Also, try social networking on Twitter. Follow other article marketers. Tell every one about your site. Discuss new things you are doing. Likewise, get involved with Facebook and tell people what you are doing.

      Learn to valuable marketing techniques. Being a serious marketer will give you skills that will help you for years and years to come.

      Do you have a list? That's also important.

      For immediate traffic, start with these tips first. Your next step will be to build your own list so you are not dependent upon anyone else for traffic.

    Hi Rhonda,

    I agree with others that posted you should make it a physical CD to be mailed out. Add related bonuses (can be other PLR products. It costs no more, as you would still have tons of space still left on your CD), and with the increased perceived value of a physical product, you can sell it for a higher price.

    To really be able to jack the price, create a screen capture video (www.jingproject.com if you don't have Camtasia) where you review examples of good blogs, pointing out what makes them noteworthy; or you could write an article of your own and record an audio of you reading it, OR, better yet, record an interview with a successful blogger,picking his/her brain (and if that blogger has a product for sale, promote it at the end of the audio with your affiliate link... Suddenly your product just went from $9.95 to $47! (Are your Greed Glands Pumpin'?!?!)

    You may want to check into a print-on-demand service. They create a professional looking product and do the fulfillment for you at a very reasonable price, adding an even higher perceived value. Short of that, have you tried converting it to a zip file for faster download times?

    OK, back on topic...

    For free or cheap advertising, I was thinking you could advertise on Craigs List, too, but, here's a couple of ways I have not yet seen mentioned.

    Do an Ebay AD. I think it costs you 9.95 for a 30 day listing, and you are able to have links to your web/sales page. (something Ebay doesn't allow for regular auctions). You would get some massive exposure, there. Make your headline POP!, and the curiosity factor will do the rest.

    Also, do a Squidoo Lens. Google loves these and ranks them very quickly. Pick some good keywords, write your copy with links to your sales page and let Google do it's magic. You can be on google's 1st page in just 2-3 days, all organic traffic. You don't have to let them know that you are promoting your own product. It would be better if you left the impression that you are just a raving fan.

    One last thought. Find another marketer (or several of them) that sells a similar product and approach them about including your offer on their Thank you or OTO page. Offer them 75% commission. Big potential list builder, there! And if you were to create an original product for sale, you could approach these same marketers with the offer to include their offer on your Thank you/OTO page. 75% of their product sales puts extra duckets in your pocket, and having already done business with them, it will be much easier to get the deal done.

    Well, that should be enough to get you started. Some food for thought...

    Why dont you divide your products into 23 files because this way people will feel comfortable while downloading each file with a smaller size otherwise making a cd is a good idea.

      Rhonda, I am known as one of the cheapest marketers on the planet. I make
      most of my income off of advertising that doesn't cost me a CENT.

      Somewhere out there, somebody's selling my "Crap Advertising" as I offered
      it as PLR. Go pick it up from somebody, anybody and use it. It's a joke how
      well these methods work if you just follow the steps and they won't cost
      you anything for 3 of the 4 methods.

    This is a valid objection as in many areas you either pay for time or for the data transfer and 166Mb takes some money to get onto your computer.

    Examples:
    Spain - 1Gb = 80Euro: so 166 Mb = 13 Euro
    South Africa - 1Gb = R289 ($36) so 166 Mb = $6

    Be up front about the size and offer a choice of download and/or CD and charge a shipping fee for the CD

      Ok, before I tell you "where to advertise for free", let me teach you something that will help you make real money online, not just cents:

      1. MMR / PLR products is a waste of time, focus and energy. You have to promote an affiliate offer and do it like nobody else (give away a special, exclusive incentive for anybody ordering from you), or sell your own unique stuff.

      2. Focus where the real money is - give folks what they want. Do your prior research.

      Would they really want MMR/PLR stuff, or something different - what forums tell you about this?

      3. Making money online is all about building trust with a potential buyer, not "advertising (for free)".

      The best way to speed up the trust building factor is by building your list.

      Maybe you heard about this before - why not start doing it?

      When you combine a list with a BLOG, sky's the limit - that's how you're able to build trust with 10, 100 and even 1000+ folks at a time, on "autopilot".

      That's the beauty of Internet.

      Here's how to advertise FREE:

      1. forum postings (use your SIG file carefully)

      2. blog commenting (use your "web site" field carefully)

      3. show your real name and make it eye-catching...

      "rhondaklewis" needs to stand out in the crowd!

      4. Get an autoresponder, a blog and start building your list...

        I'm sure Steven Wagenheim will be back shortly to tell you he forgot to mention two key words:
        "Article....Marketing"

        That can tie in with forum marketing, squidoo marketing, online press releases etc etc etc.

        Just ask Steven...he'll tell you.

        In fact I'd bet he's got at least 50 articles on that subject alone...the man walks the walk.
