Advice Needed Please: How to Configure "Bonus PDF" file area for opt-in members?

Hi,
I am about to add an opt-in box for my soon to be created newsletter, and I'm planning on using MailChimp.

Here's what I'd like to do:
I have a bunch of postings on my tutorial site about web site hosting. What I'd like to offer a "PDF guide" as a "reward" for joining the newsletter. The PDF guide will have all of the web hosting posts, as well as a Table of Contents and an Index, etc.

So I'm basically wondering "how everyone else does this"? I've been on plenty of sites where I have to give an email address, where the address is then verified by a emailed opt-in confirmation via aweber, etc, and then I wind up at the PDF download page.

Here are my questions:
1. Is this setup through the opt-in provider, or do I need to do separate coding (coding is not a problem for me)?

2. Is there a way to create a members-only section based on the newsletter signups? For example, if I decide to add more "combined PDF" on a subject (e.g. virtualizaiton) , I'd like to have a members area where members have access to the new PDFs as they come out. Again, is this a feature of the opt-in service, or more of a coding issue.

3. Is there information about "how to" do this kind of thing in the War Room? Or is there a post here somewhere that someone can recommend to me about the overview of the process, and how everyone else does this.

As always, thanks in advance for any help.
