Passive Income - What's your idea?

Hey folks,

Recently, I am trying to build a second passive stream of income (so I can have multiple stream of income).

My main stream of income is from info product sales -- which is marvelous. All I did was hire assistants to handle my supports and that's it. My affiliates will take care of the sales and I have another guy who is constantly looking to help me to convert my sales page better.

But after the FTC changes, my sales got hit pretty hard (since 90% of them are from affiliates) and I noticed there are fewer affiliates converting sales for me.

This is freaking me out for a while and I decided to test out different stream of income (preferably passive as I am still attending college).

I was thinking of creating about 20 blogs and then ranking them high on Google (which will be a tough task, let's be honest) and wait for the income to drop in. Obviously, I will have to either promote my own products or promote some high-paying ones.

So, my question is, how many of you have niche blogs that are ranking high on Google and what's your results?

More importantly, what is your conversion?

Cheers
-Desmond

Why don't you buy some media on high trafficked sites and see what your conversions are?

I like the idea of 20 blogs all ranking well on Google - that's a good start. I would set out a plan of attack for each blog you set up. By that I mean outline a plan that you follow for backlinking, social bookmarking, article marketing etc etc. Then just repeat for the next blog.
If there is a good affiliate product in the niche then promote that product. If there is no decent affiliate products then I would suggest google adsense.

Adsense can generate passive income from day to day, while affiliate sales can be at times, incosistent.

However, with adsense it is important that you target the right keywords when building your sites.

    Just my 2 cents worth

20 blogs all ranking high in Google is potentially a 5 figure monthly income. My main business is niche blogs - I keep the best of them and flip those that aren't doing as well. My really targetted blogs (selling just one product) have very high conversion rates (up to 20%). My more general blogs (selling a number of products in one particular niche) have a lower conversion rate but get alot more traffic.

Depends on the topics. I have some blogs doing great on page one, and others that aren't. Even a desperate niche isn't always enough to make a niche a profitable one, at least in my experience.

I usually have to test out at least 5 different income streams before I land on a profitable one. AdSense, different affiliate products, Amazon sometimes. Sometimes it's a mix that is most profitable.

It's passive once it's finished, but the process to get each blog making a good income can be long and tedious.

    Thanks guys.

Blogs are great way to make money but pre-selling is not as easy as it used to be because of the damn FTC.

Since you can't use stories (or claim any numbers), I'm pretty sure this will lowers the conversion.

I was thinking of just ripping the testimonials from the vendors' sales pages and put them on my niche blogs. Also, I never like AdSense. Took me like 6 months to make my first $100 about 2 years back.
