Article marketing - is it´s so easy how do you do it?

I want to ask all you successful article marketers what your secret really is.

I´ve head several people on this forum saying:
"You can get articles ranked and on the first page within a few days"

Obviously this depends on what keyword you go after but I have done article marketing for some time (200 articles live) and I have almost never gotten my articles to rank on the first page of google just like that.

I have always fired a ton of backlinks to my articles, and the first page on google has been hard to get on.

And it´s not like I havent tried it in many niches, think I´ve tried it on 10 at least.

So.... Those who say stuff like article marketing is great, I can get my articles ranked high in google quite easy....

.... what is your secret, can you tell me what you do, step by step?

    someone posted here about how google only displays the same domain name twice per search

    and that person suggested that

    if you dont see for an example goarticles.com on that keyword you search

    its a good sign to submit one to that directory

      It is easy to get on the first page of Google if you choose the right keyword.

      My guess is that you are not doing keyword research properly.

      I had an article last week from EZA become the #3 article that EZA had on the same search keyword.

        Here's a reality check for you. And this is coming from somebody who
        sells article marketing books.

        Article marketing is NOT easy. Repeat...NOT.

        There is a TON that is involved in the process.

        1. Niche and keyword research (a chore and a half in itself)
        2. Learning how to actually write an article well.
        3. Learning how to construct an effective resource box.
        4. Submitting to the right directories.
        5. Finding or creating an effective landing page.
        6. Having an offer that people give a rat's behind about in the first place.

        You screw up anywhere in that process and you are dead in the water.

        Article marketing is NOT easy. Repeat...NOT.

          Agreed ... Some seem to think all they need to do is grab plr articles and slap them on ezine and boom make money.. Sorry does not work that way.

          There is no magic button and there is no get rich quick pills, anything you do is going to take time and work.

          Its not easy but some do over complicate things more than they need to.

    First you should start on this thread and read everything, read it twice if need be.. Take notes on the important stuff that you find useful.

    Once done then compile a list of questions on things you still do not understand and ask those specific questions.

    The reason I say this is because article marketing can be done many different ways but there are a few important things that must be done no matter what route you take and that would be research and keyword research.
