So I keep seeing people mentioning that they use what is called an RSS feed or something. My understanding is that it is just like a sort of e-mail thing that will send you topics, articles and discussionsif you subscribe to it.

In a recent post old mate mentioned that each time he submits an article to ezine articles he would copy and paste the website URL saving it into a Word or Excel file. Then at the end of each month or each week or whatever it was, they would then add these 50 or 60 URL's to a RSS feed or something.

So what exactly is going on here, how I do this? Can somebody please the noob some tips.

Cheers,

Peter

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication.

RSS is a standard format for syndicating content on the Internet. The content can be anything!

Users can choose which feeds they wish to subscribe to, if at any point they are unhapy with the content contained in the RSS feed they simply unsubscribe and no longer receive feed updates.

RSS feeds are usually signalled by a small orange icon or if you are using Firefox and the website has an RSS feed available an icon will appear in the URL box. You can click the icon to see the contents of the RSS feed.
