What to look for in a Key Word?

when researching key words to create articles, what exactly is your objective? Do you want to choose key words that have a high search volume? If so, how do you get around the high amount of competition so that your site ranks better than the others?

Usually what you'll normally here is to find kw's with low comp and high searches.

If you're not good at doing kw research, that's probably a good rule to follow. KISS.

Once you get good, you'll figure out more advanced stuff.

    IMHO,

Others may see it differently. BUT that's how I started. Now I go after whatever keywords I want because I know how to get ranked for them.

When I am doing my keyword research I use Niche Taser which is a free tool that can be found on google or by clicking on this link here. There is also a training video that you can watch that is very short 3-4 minutes long (that tells you how simple this tool is). You can access this training video by
Basically when I am using this tool I mainly pay attention to Global Search & Phrase/Comp.

Here is the filter criteria that I use in picking and choosing my hot keyword phrase's

      Global Search: 100 to 9999999999999
      Phrase/Comp: 0 to 30,000 (some teach 50,000)

Watch the video, this will explain more. I hope all this helps you.
