As I'm going about my marketing efforts on the web, promoting my sites with anchor text and links etc... I have a question that nags me:

Is it better to separate products or sites so each has it's own account? What I mean is if I open a myspace account for example and promote product/site/link X, can I use the same account for product Z?

Does Google have algorithms that figure out connection between accounts? It would sure save a lot of work and cut down the nr of accounts I need to open.... But if Google detects that products/sites/links X and Z are always together, do I get penalized for that?

What should I do? How do you guys do it? Separate accounts to avoid ANY AND ALL connections?

Some say that only bookmarking should be separate, others say the accounts/users should be separated?

Any thoughts..... I ask because I'm tempted to use the same account for more than one product/site/link ... Should I? Shouldn't I? Any experiences?

Thank you

PS: Please speak from experience... Hunches and guesses I have too
