Is .90% Conversion Rate = Good or Bad?

I saw this CR on a product and I was like wow! It has an A- grading in conversions. But does this "decimal and percent sign" mean that out of 100 people 90 are going to buy that product or out of 100 9 are going to buy that product?

Thank you.

    90% of 100 = 90
    9% of 100 = 9
    0.9% of 100 = 0.9 (less than one in 100)

So, based on the info you've give... around 1 in a hundred buy.

    Kindest regards,
    Karl.

Yep that's slightly less than 1% CR.

Depends on the source of the traffic, but it's about 1 sale every 110 ish visitors. I'd say that's ok.

0.9 is already a fact. Good or bad depends on what you do next.

Tracking and tweaking. Improve it by another 0.5 to 1% and see your conversion rate improves.

          There is no answer.

A "good" conversion rate varies drastically based on factors such as the niche, the product, the product price-point, and so on.

For example, I'd be thrilled with a 0.9% conversion rate if I was selling private jets :-)

Not if you were only talking to 10 people every 5 years! :-)

I believe there are three factors that would determine your answer:

                1. The amount of traffic

                2. The Payout

                3. The cost of traffic

If your payout was $200 and your cost per click or cost of time was $100 then all you need to do is worry about how much traffic there was.

If your payout is $2.00 and your cost was $1.00 to get your conversion, then your traffic would be the aspect of scrutiny.
