Do you give away your* primary email ID when you opt-in for free stuff in the IM Niche?

Whenever I see some free report or anything... I just use a mail ID which I don't use. I opt-in, confirm and download the free stuff. That ID gets 50+ emails per day now and checking emails in it is impossible.

For me, giving a junk ID and forgetting about it is easier than unsubscribing to a list.

Are you in the same boat?

Now if you are launching a WSO and building a list where 99.9% of the buyers already have been in lists of other marketers, what is the point in collecting their email IDs when most of them are giving out their "junk" ID. Most of them will not even give an opportunity for us to provide value & build trust.

ABSOLUTELY! You better make sure you have an alternate email or you are going to get bombarded with junk! Sad to say that I specialize in list building, but HIGHLY recommend that you use an alternate, but most people dont do that, people sign up on my list every day!!

My "junk" mail address gets 170+ mails a day. Sales letter upon sales letter.

Buy this, buy that, you need this, this secret and that secret... It just goes on and on and on...

There might me money in the list but first win the trust of your subscribers before you start with the never-ending sales letters.

Once my "junk" mail account hits 200+ mails a day, I'll just get a new "junk" mail address.

I have several e-mail addresses for IM stuff, in several different categories.

But there's a reason for this: For my reviews, I sign up to all sorts of stuff and one of the criteria I include in my reviews is how many mails you get and how spammy they are. So I need to be able to keep an overview.

I´ve used my main email for lots of freebies...and my junk mail is showing pretty fancy numbers...last 14 days and 975 crap mails...

Yeah, I wish I´ve used other than main email addresses

I have a googlemail (Gmail) address for all the mailing lists, and set up filters on Thunderbird to sort and collate the e-mails by list. I only give out my main e-mail address -- the one that come with my broadband -- to family and friends.
