Hey
Up until now my traffic getting has been reasonably simple:
  • Joint ventures with friends / others in my niche
  • Writing for ezinearticles.com
  • Forums
  • Demo / Instructional videos on youtube
  • Free search engine traffic
  • Traffic from my own lists
Since I have been earning a little, a whole new world of paid advertising has opened up.

Yet, I have no idea where to get started!
Some fellow sites offer banner ad spots, yet they often have tiny reaches anyway. Others in my niche have warned against PPC, but I'm sure it could work if someone would point me in the right direction.

I don't have a great deal of money to play with, so any tips or advice much appreciated.

Cheers
Nathan

If you do PPC the right way, it works well.

If you don't know what you're doing - well, I've personally seen accounts of people who have spent thousands without getting their money back....

So my advice to you is to learn proper PPC techniques, take it slow, and you should do great.

Use PPC if you sure it will give back the money at least.

I have had some good "luck" with banner advertising, although looking back at it, that's just what it was.

I would say making a banner campaign might not be bad though. Also I noticed you are a war room member, check out PPC boardroom with the admin's posts, I have heard good things about it.

You can also try ezine advertising...

There are ezines you can use to send to 20000-50000 subscribers (highly targeted) for $40-$60...(that`s for solo ad...sponsor and classified ads are cheaper...)

Locate ezines on your niche and check out ad prices. If you find a good quality ezine and send out solo ad, you can expect 3-35% click rate...and the rest depends on your website conversion, of course.

      Thanks for the replies everyone!
I'm wondering whether my niche is perhaps too small for this, I can't find any significant ezine offering paid advertising.

PPC may be worth looking into, I'll review the resources at the war room.

Cheers, and any other tips greatly appreciated,
      Nathan.
