How do find drop shippers

Does any one have a good methodology/sytem to locate drop shippers that carry unique products. By unique I mean something other than clothing or electronics.

Thank You

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE! Take Vinnie's advice on this one.....!

There is no such thing as "drop shippers".....there is however... a medium of delivery called "drop shipping."

    BIG DIFFERENCE.

Do NOT fall for the sucker pitch that asks you TO PAY CASH UP FRONT FOR THE HONOR OF HAVING SOME COMPANY THAT SELLS WIDGET YOU WANT TO MARKET.....DO NOT DO IT.

Do not let a pimp whore you out.......please!

Drop shippers often make their money from charging LARGE UPFRONT MEMBERSHIP FEES....and what they end up drop shipping.... is usually at a price you can obtain far lower on your own....minus any up front membership bs. Believe me.....I know.

Here's how to find a drop shipper....and there's no magic to it.

    1. Find out exactly what products you want to sell.

    2. Research the very best companies that provide them.....aka...service, reputation, pricing..... and delivery etc.

    3. And then simply CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER DIRECT AND SET UP YOUR OWN DROP SHIPPING ARRANGEMENT. Many will be receptive if you present yourself professionally....and lead them to believe you will do " a lot of future business..etc."

    4. No fees or middlemen required.

    5. And you'll often end up with a way better price too.....and you cut out some middle man....who may be here today...and gone tomorrow....leaving you holding the bag.....! Capiche!

    5. Drop shipping programs that charge fees are basically covering up the fact they are charging you for the same stuff you could get direct. They make money on their bull**** membership fee.....

    6. A little research...and believe me....you can locate a source for any widget you wish to sell......direct.

I have a dropshipper for about 3/4 of my small dog clothes.

How did I find him?? Due Diligence/Lots of searching/talking with peeps in my niche!!!

He gives me a % off any orders I send his way, I sent him my labels that he adds to any packages sent by him on my behalf.

Any more I can say...is that you have to do your research and you will find a proper fit for you. There are DP's out there that will work for you, ya just gotta find them!! It's not easy but it is do-able!

One really good way besides contacting manufacturers directly, is to contact sellers on Ebay. Make an arrangement with them. Many times they can help you seriously drop costs. In many cases they are the manufacturers themselves.

You can also help your search by signing up with forums to do with your niche. Before signing up though check to see how regular people are posting on the forums. You need to find 2 or 3 that are used on a regular basis. Once you are a member explain what you are looking for and see if anyone can help you.

Once you have a few companies do some research, you can start by simply googling the company name. You will soon find out if they are worth dealing with.

It all depends what exactly you are looking for. I tend to go directly to the manufacturer. You just need to make contact with the niches you interested in. A lot of sites are offering drop shipping. A lot of people have it in their head that you can't make much money drop shipping, but the facty is there is a lot of money to be made. You just need to think outside the box.

Do your research properly and you will succeed. Contacting ebay suppliers is another excellent method. The way I found my supplier for cameras was completely accidental. I ordered a camera from ebay and the company had their logo embroided. I went to their website and they offer a drop shipping and wholesale service. It was lucky. Drop shipping should be in your short term plans, look at wholesale to really get a business going.

Couldn't agree more with the advice re: never paying for the privilege of being able to get goods drop shipped for you!

Also agree re: World Wide Brands...and would say Salehoo as well.

Blatant pitch/plug here, but our Niche Blueprint 2.0 product has a lot of resources to find drop shippers as well as tons of other stuff...

In addition, our forum (which is free) has a lot of folks discussing finding drop shippers.

    All in my signature.

    Best of luck.

Drop Ship Wholesale Products - Wholesale Drop Shipping for Retailers | Doba
Not so sure about these...Doba has a bad reputation in some quarters for having inflated prices (eBay sellers), Worldwide Brands charge $299 for access. Don't know about Salehoo.

I don't think others would agree with your recommendations!

Doba sucks, Salehoo is just a collected (and sometimes outdated) list of middlemen charging inflated prices for products made in China, and World Wide Brands is pretty much the same, but offering you more direct contact. There are wayyy better sources out there.

Here's the easiest way to "dropship" - and this is information people spend money for:

Find a catalog of products from major retail stores and eCommerce stores. Find sales (IE: 50% off for a limited time) and then using their catalog, search for manufacturers coupons and use them, scan their images or copy and paste into an eBay page, copy over their descriptions, mark up the prices, and once the customer purchases item(s), go to this catalog or website or store, buy the product, and send it out. I've done this with Walmart, Amazon, HowHelpful.com, SlickDeals.net, JC Penny, etc. Often these places offer Free Shipping, like on HowHelpful.com and all you do is tack on a little shipping fee such as "$6.72" - meaning you make $6.72 per sale as commission. After you do your research and figure out whats selling and in demand (using Vendio or Terapeak) its a very easy process. Only bad thing is that sometimes people get receipts for items, and they get pissed off knowing they spent more than they should have. Or their item comes in a JCPenny packaging, and they realize you didnt even have the item.

I started this way, its not the nicest way of selling things.

EDIT: Also remember to stay on top of fees using the eBay Fees Calculator to figure out if you are really making any money.

As an eBay powerseller myself, I can tell you, you'll never find a dropshipper by asking others who they use or where you can find one. Anyone who has found a good dropshipper and uses them will guard their identity and take the name to their grave.

I will tell you that you don't really need a "dropshipper." The ones that charge, especially the bigs ones like Doba and Worldwidebrands are a ripoff in my opinion. Not only do they charge you for the priveledge of selling products, but the bulk of their dropshippers are WAY overpriced. You can't make any money with any of them.

I want to give you a hint of sorts. You don't have to use a company that calls themselves a "dropshipper." The bottom line is all you need is one that offers fields for both "billing" address and "shipping" address.

Input your info into the billing area, and then input your buyer's info into the shipping area.

    Done!

It not entirey dropshopping but what you can do is look on goofbay for lets say nintendo wii game pads, For example and it shows all availabile in ebay.co.uk ebay .ie ebay france ect and you can notice the cheaper prices around the site. so then its about getting in touch with them sellers and asking them if they will do a discount in some foam and you will send traffic to them of buyers ect, on the products using google translate if needed if the french ebay site. if they agree you get the products and sell them higher making profit on the other auction sites like ebay us or uk.

since some drop shippers are either too dogey to deal with what you are really doing is the same in therory except its with original ebay sellers who have been proven by ebay as safe to deal with.

I learned this method from a old course called the black hat millionare by Chris Canos. when i used to ebay many years ago full time i did make alot of income by doing this tactic.

    anyway hope that helps
    andy

edit: o yes i forgot also make sure you do your research on what is selling on ebay or this will flop also!

I am setting up a hot sauce site and found some sites that offer hundreds of products, then just emailed them and asked if they offer wholesale pricing. They did, and then I asked if they dropship, and they said they do for a $1.50/order fee. I don't think that they advertised it anywhere - just have to ask!
