Do I need a disclaimer if I dont sell "make money" products?

Hey

I was just writing the squeeze page for my new site, it is in the self improvement niche, like shyness, confidence and self esteem and I got to wondering, do I need to put a disclaimer on here?

The headline just says 7 tips that can help "xxxxx".

For those of you who are in a similar niche, do you have one?

  • You don't need a disclaimer for anything when you tell the truth. If you are writing and promoting products with made up testimonials or with products based not on actual usage or experience you should state the review is based on your opinion.

      huh okay thanks.

I thought disclaimers were like waivers, so if anything went wrong, like say someone used my one of my tips and for some reason they broke their leg, I couldnt be held liable.

Obviously my tips dont present such a danger!

So how would one go about stating they are opinions only?

If I say "Free Report Reveals 7 tips that can instantly boost your confidence!" or something like that. And these are tips that have worked for me.

      How do I tell them?

      Thanks for the reply!

This is what you would have to put as a disclaimer.

"I can't guarantee that these tips will boost your confidence. Most people
will just read them and do nothing with them. But if you put in the time
to use these tips, I am confident that your confidence will increase."

        Something like that.

disclaimers are not only used for money making. Normally your terms of service would contain such disclaimers.

Thanks, I am going to add faq, contact and privacy policy and terms of service. But should I also add all those to a squeeze page?

Thanks Steven, I think my understanding was a little off when it came to disclaimers! I see what they are now from your example.

          Thanks for the help everyone

I would yes ... As it helps protect you and plus the contact us may bring you more business or even possible jv's.

I would use a form that has captcha on it for contact
