Ultracart vs 1shopping cart, ARP vs Aweber...thoughts?

Hey everybody,

So we are about to launch a new site and our front end product but have some vital decisions to make regarding the cart and autoresponder...

I don't think our list size justifies investing in a full on CRM yet, so I narrowed the shopping carts down to Ultracart and 1 shopping cart. I had originally given up on 1shop bcuz they didn't have the 1 click upsell feature that ultracart does, but lo and behold, they added it recently!

Does anyone have any experience with both of these carts? Your thoughts?

Now to the autoresponders...

I've had Aweber for a couple of years and have been quite happy with it, but frankly, it's getting expensive. And since I was gonna switch to a dedicated virtual server with the new site anyway, I am strongly considering moving over to ARP.

Thoughts on ARP vs Aweber? Anyone here used both?

To be honest, I'm the least tech-y guy you've ever met, so I'm a bit intimidated by ARP as I've heard it can be quite difficult to maintain. (Or at least that's what Tom Kulzer would have us believe Also the 2 programmers I have on call aren't familiar with it... Does anyone have any thoughts on how to handle this issue?

Thanks so much!

-J

    Hi there...

OK...You said you're technically challenged. Therefore, stay away from ARP unless you know about SPF, DomainKeys and you're ready to fully handle any SCOMP complaints from AOL. Don't know what this stuff means? Then let Aweber handle it for you. They have a lot of engineers making sure they stay compliant and off blacklists. Running a mail server requires it's OWN dedicated machine if you mail frequently and it's basically a time-suck. I used to personally manage mail servers and at one time was responsible for a list of 50 million.

For shopping carts, can't tell you. Haven't used either of your solutions. However, I have used InfusionSoft, RAP and Nanacast and can vouch for all of them. Nanacast will offer you the fastest "time to market" with it's simplicity. InfusionSoft is simply, hands-down, extremely powerful...but you'll need some great techs on your team to get things rolling.

Keep in mind that 1shoppingcart has an autoresponder in it, too, with many of the features of aweber.

Many people use 1sc for their entire operation and seem to do very well with it.
